Millions of Farmers Await the Release of the 20th Installment Under PM Kisan Scheme

Published on

Farmers across India have been eagerly awaiting the 20th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme, and the wait is finally expected to end soon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Bihar on July 18, 2025, where he will likely announce the much-anticipated release of the 20th installment of the PM Kisan Scheme.

The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is one of the flagship welfare programs of the Indian government, aimed at providing financial support to farmers across the country. Under this scheme, ₹6,000 is directly credited into the bank accounts of eligible farmers in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each. The 20th installment will mark another significant milestone in the government’s effort to improve the financial conditions of farmers and strengthen the agricultural sector.

PM Kisan 20th Installment: What to Expect

The 20th installment of the PM Kisan Yojana will bring much-needed financial relief to millions of farmers. The government has been proactive in ensuring that the installments are released on time, and the PM Kisan Scheme has been a crucial source of income for many small-scale farmers who depend on it for their daily needs.

PM Modi’s visit to Motihari, Bihar, on July 18, 2025, is expected to mark the official release of the 20th installment. This announcement is likely to benefit farmers in Bihar, a state that has a large agricultural population, and the installment will provide direct financial assistance to help them overcome the challenges posed by unpredictable weather patterns, rising input costs, and other difficulties in the farming sector.

Eligibility for PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme

To be eligible for the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, farmers must meet certain criteria. The key eligibility requirements for this scheme are:

  1. Small and Marginal Farmers: The scheme is primarily designed for small and marginal farmers, who own land of up to 2 hectares.

  2. Ownership of Land: Farmers must be landowners, as the benefit is provided directly to their bank accounts based on their landholding records.

  3. Exclusion Criteria: The scheme excludes certain categories of individuals, including institutional landholders, individuals with high income sources, and certain government employees. Additionally, farmers whose landholding exceeds 2 hectares may not be eligible for the scheme.

  4. Aadhaar and Bank Account: Eligible farmers need to have a valid Aadhaar card and bank account linked with their Aadhaar number to receive the funds directly into their accounts.

The government’s goal is to provide direct financial assistance to farmers, helping them manage agricultural expenses, including the cost of seeds, fertilizers, labor, and equipment. By releasing this installment, the government aims to ensure that small farmers can maintain their livelihoods and continue contributing to India’s agricultural economy.

What to Do if the PM Kisan 20th Installment is Not Credited?

Despite the government’s efforts to transfer the funds directly to the bank accounts of eligible farmers, there are instances where some farmers may not receive their payments on time. If you find that your PM Kisan 20th installment has not been credited to your account, here are a few steps to follow:

  1. Check Eligibility: Ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria for the PM Kisan scheme. If your details are incorrect or outdated in the government records, it could lead to delays or non-crediting of funds.

  2. Verify Aadhaar and Bank Account Linkage: Make sure your Aadhaar card is correctly linked with your bank account. Any discrepancy here may lead to delays in receiving the installment.

  3. Track Payment Status: You can track the status of your installment by visiting the official PM Kisan Portal and using the “Payment Status” feature. This allows farmers to check whether their installment has been credited.

  4. Contact PM Kisan Helpline: If the issue persists, farmers can contact the PM Kisan Helpline at 155261 or visit the nearest Common Service Center (CSC) to resolve the issue.

  5. Update Records: In case of incorrect information, farmers are advised to update their land details, bank information, or any other relevant data by visiting the PM Kisan Portal or approaching their respective State Agriculture Department.

The government has also set up dedicated grievance redressal mechanisms to help farmers who face issues in receiving their installment. By following these steps, farmers can ensure that they receive the benefits under the PM Kisan scheme without any delays.

The Importance of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi for Farmers

The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana has been a game-changer for millions of farmers across India. With financial support coming directly into their bank accounts, farmers no longer have to rely solely on credit or borrowings to meet the expenses associated with their crops and agricultural activities. The scheme has empowered farmers to manage their finances better, invest in quality seeds, fertilizers, and equipment, and, most importantly, improve their standard of living.

PM Kisan has also contributed significantly to improving the income levels of small-scale farmers, ensuring that they receive timely support to carry out agricultural activities. This has been crucial, particularly during unforeseen circumstances such as poor harvests, unseasonal rains, and natural disasters, which often affect the livelihoods of farmers.

PM Kisan’s Impact on Rural Economy

The release of the PM Kisan 20th installment will continue to boost the rural economy by providing farmers with the means to invest in their agricultural activities. When farmers have access to financial support, they are more likely to reinvest in their fields, which leads to better yields and contributes to the overall growth of the rural economy.

The scheme has also helped address several structural issues in agriculture, such as poor cash flow and inadequate financing. By providing direct income support, the government has empowered farmers to make decisions that positively impact their productivity and long-term financial stability.

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi prepares for his visit to Motihari, Bihar, on July 18, 2025, farmers across the country are eagerly anticipating the release of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi 20th installment. With financial relief on the horizon, millions of farmers will benefit from this scheme, which has become an essential lifeline for many.

The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme continues to play a pivotal role in uplifting the agricultural sector in India. By offering direct financial support to small and marginal farmers, the government ensures that they are better equipped to face the challenges of modern-day agriculture.

Farmers are advised to keep their Aadhaar and bank account details updated to avoid any delays in the installment. With PM Modi’s upcoming announcement, the financial support for farmers will continue to grow, paving the way for a more sustainable and prosperous agricultural sector in India.
