Eligibility Criteria for IBPS PO 2025

To apply for IBPS PO 2025, candidates must meet the following eligibility conditions:

 Age Limit:

  • Minimum Age: 20 years

  • Maximum Age: 30 years (as on July 1, 2025)

Age Relaxation:

  • SC/ST: 5 years

  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years

  • PwBD: 10 years

  • Ex-Servicemen: As per government norms

 Educational Qualification:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a university recognized by the Government of India or equivalent.

The application fee can be paid online via debit/credit card, UPI, or net banking.

 IBPS PO 2025 Selection Process

The selection process is three-tiered:

1. Preliminary Examination

This is the first screening stage and includes:

  • English Language – 30 marks

  • Quantitative Aptitude – 35 marks

  • Reasoning Ability – 35 marks

Each section is timed separately for better candidate assessment. Only those who clear the cut-offs will qualify for the next stage.

2. Main Examination

The main exam is more comprehensive and includes both objective and descriptive questions:

Objective Section:

  • Reasoning & Computer Aptitude – 60 marks

  • General/Economy/Banking Awareness – 40 marks

  • English Language – 40 marks

  • Data Analysis & Interpretation – 60 marks

Descriptive Section:

  • English Language (Essay & Letter Writing) – 25 marks

Total duration: 3 hours 30 minutes

3. Interview

  • Conducted by the Participating Banks and IBPS

  • Total marks: 100

  • Minimum qualifying:

    • General: 40%

    • Reserved Categories: 35%

 Final Merit & Provisional Allotment

The final merit list will be prepared based on:

  • 80% weightage to the Main Exam

  • 20% weightage to the Interview

Important: Marks obtained in the Preliminary Exam are not considered in the final merit list.

Provisional allotment will begin in January or February 2026, with placements depending on the candidate’s rank and bank preference.

Although the final list of participating banks may vary slightly year to year, traditionally the following public sector banks are involved:

  • Bank of Baroda

  • Canara Bank

  • Indian Bank

  • Punjab National Bank

  • UCO Bank

  • Union Bank of India
