Alongside the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha were present, along with several other ministers. The selection of these junior engineers and instructors was carried out by the Bihar Technical Service Commission under Advertisement No. 01/2019, which aims to generate employment in the technical and engineering sectors in Bihar.

During the event, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed his satisfaction with the recruitment process and congratulated the selected candidates, urging them to contribute to the state’s progress. He also emphasized that the state government has been actively working to provide more job opportunities for the youth of Bihar. The Chief Minister highlighted that the entire selection process was transparent and based on merit. This program aimed to offer employment to those young individuals who had applied for junior engineer and instructor positions in various government departments.

Selection Process for Junior Engineers and Instructors

The selection process for the Junior Engineers and Instructors was conducted by the Bihar Technical Service Commission, through which thousands of candidates had applied for various technical roles. These appointments are seen as an important step in increasing employment opportunities in Bihar and promoting technical education in the state.

In the process, a total of 2,338 candidates were selected for the Water Resources Department, with their counseling and certificate verification conducted successfully between 14th and 19th January 2025. Additionally, another round of counseling and verification was completed on 24th January 2025, after which the final appointments were made.

Chief Minister Discusses the Importance of These Appointments

At the event, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar emphasized the importance of these appointments, stating that the primary goal of his government is to empower youth and provide them with opportunities to contribute to the development of the state. He also added that these appointments reflect the government’s commitment to increasing technical expertise within state-run public services.

The Chief Minister further pointed out that these appointments are not only about job creation but also about social transformation and advancement. He stressed that the government has always focused on promoting technical education and making it accessible to the youth of Bihar, encouraging them to utilize their skills effectively in service of the community.

Appointments in the Water Resources Department

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar noted that the selection of 2,338 Junior Engineers for the Water Resources Department is a testament to the state’s commitment to ensuring high-quality technical competence in public services. These appointments will play a critical role in addressing Bihar’s water management issues, which are central to concerns related to irrigation, water conservation, and drainage systems.

These new recruits will bring much-needed technical expertise to the department, helping improve the efficiency of water management projects across the state. Their work will be essential in ensuring that Bihar’s water conservation schemes and irrigation projects are implemented effectively, ultimately benefitting the state’s agricultural and environmental sustainability.

Successful Counseling and Verification Process

The counseling and certificate verification process for the Junior Engineers and Instructors was completed successfully in 2025, marking a significant achievement in ensuring a fair and transparent selection process. This process involved the verification of candidates’ eligibility and credentials, ensuring that only qualified individuals were appointed to these important technical roles.

By ensuring such transparency in the recruitment process, the Bihar government aims to establish a robust merit-based selection system that helps prevent discrepancies and ensures fairness in public service appointments.

Employment Situation in Bihar and Government Policies

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also spoke about the Bihar government’s ongoing efforts to improve the employment landscape in the state. He mentioned that various schemes and policies have been implemented to create more job opportunities for the youth of Bihar, particularly in the technical sectors.

The appointment of Junior Engineers and Instructors is a significant step toward increasing technical employment and promoting skilled labor in the state. The state government has been working diligently to improve the infrastructure and education system, ensuring that more and more young people have access to technical training and job opportunities.

Future Employment Plans and Infrastructure Development

During the event, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also highlighted that the government plans to continue the recruitment process in engineering and technical fields in the coming months. He stressed that the state is investing in the development of smart cities and infrastructure projects, which will generate more employment for skilled professionals.

The government aims to further expand employment opportunities in fields like engineering, technology, and public infrastructure, which will help create a more vibrant economy and provide the youth of Bihar with the tools they need to succeed in today’s competitive world.

The handing over of appointment letters to 6,341 Junior Engineers and 496 Instructors by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar marks a significant moment in the development of Bihar. These appointments reflect the government’s ongoing efforts to promote technical education, increase employment opportunities, and address regional developmental challenges in the state.

Through these appointments, Bihar is not only expanding its technical workforce but is also ensuring that its public service sectors are equipped with highly qualified and skilled professionals. These efforts are in line with the government’s broader goal to boost economic development and improve infrastructure across the state.

With these new appointments, Bihar’s youth now have access to exciting career opportunities in key sectors, contributing to the overall growth and progress of the state. These steps will not only improve the water management and infrastructure projects but also strengthen the state’s role in promoting technical education and employment on a national level.
