Rajasthan University Extends UG & PG Admission Deadline to June 16

Published on

KKN Gurugram Desk | In a significant move to ensure inclusion and fairness, Rajasthan University (RU) has extended the admission deadline for Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) courses until June 16, 2025. The extension affects the university and its four major constituent colleges—Maharaja College, Maharani College, Commerce College, and Rajasthan College—offering a total of 6,010 seats.

This decision was prompted by multiple reports of technical issues on the admission portal, which prevented thousands of students from submitting applications before the original June 11 deadline.

 New Admission Timeline

  • Extended Application Deadline: June 16, 2025

  • Correction Window Open: June 17–18, 2025

Students who missed the June 11 deadline due to login, payment, or captcha errors can now complete their applications by midnight on June 16. Following submission, applicants can make minor changes (course preference, personal details) during the two-day correction window from June 17 to 18.

Reservation of Seats Across Constituent Colleges

RU has provided a comprehensive breakdown of the 6,010 available seats, distributed across disciplines like B.A., B.Com, B.Sc, BBA, BCA, and honours programs:

College-wise Seat Distribution

  • Maharani College (Women only) – 2,530 seats

    • B.Sc (Bio & Math): 720

    • B.Sc Honours Botany: 30

    • B.Sc Honours Maths: 30

    • B.Sc Honours Physics: 30

    • B.Sc Honours Zoology: 30

    • B.Sc Statistics: 60

    • B.C.A: 120

  • Maharaja College (Men only) – 1,020 seats across BA/BCOM/BSC disciplines

  • Commerce College (Co-ed) – 1,500 seats

    • B.Com: 420

    • B.Com (Business Administration): 60

    • B.Com (EAFM): 60

    • B.C.A: 120

    • B.B.A: 120

    • B.Com (Retail): 60

  • Rajasthan College (Co-ed) – 960 seats in morning and evening shifts

These seats include both honours and self-financed (SFS) courses in key academic streams.

Why the Extension Was Necessary

RU officials confirmed that server issues on the admission portal had affected potential applicants across the state. Errors ranged from payment failures to site loading problems, preventing students from meeting the original June 11 deadline.

CUHS-approved exam postponements earlier this year disrupted many applicants’ schedules. In response, RU management convened a high-level admissions committee, which unanimously recommended the deadline be extended to ensure students could apply fairly.

 How to Apply: Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Visit the official admission portal of Rajasthan University.

  2. Register using your email, Aadhaar number, and mobile phone.

  3. Upload required documents – photograph, signature, 10th & 12th marksheets, caste certificate (if applicable).

  4. Pay the application fee.

  5. Select course and college preferences from available seat matrix.

  6. Submit the form by June 16, 2025.

  7. Check and make corrections between June 17 and June 18 via the “Form Correction” link.

Applicants are encouraged to double-check spelling of names, birth dates, and document uploads during the correction window.

Key Admission Highlights

  • Total Seats: 6,010

  • Deadline Extended: June 16, 2025

  • Available Programs: UG & PG degrees, Honours, Self-Financed

  • Correction Dates: June 17–18, 2025

  • Colleges Covered: Maharaja, Maharani, Commerce, Rajasthan (constitutive of RU)

 Admission Trends at Rajasthan University

Rajasthan University is one of the largest public universities in India, attracting hundreds of thousands of applicants every year. This year, demand surged due to:

  • The launch of new undergraduate and postgraduate programs

  • The reinstatement of physical classes post-COVID

  • The removal of stringent cut-off limits and introduction of merit-based plus sports & ECA quota seats

More than 100,000 students registered within the first week, indicating robust interest in RU’s academic offerings.

 Important Reminders for Applicants

  • Check official RU website for updated seat matrices and reservation categories (OBC, SC, ST, PwD, EWS).

  • Save all documents: confirmation receipt, fee payment screenshot, and correction slip.

  • Keep checking your registered email/SMS for allotment letters, fee payment dates, and physical verification schedules.

  • Prepare required documents for document verification before seat confirmation.

What’s Next After Seat Allotment?

Following seat allocation (via merit-based or entrance-based process), candidates must complete:

  • Fee payment within allotted timelines

  • Document verification, either online or in-person at colleges

  • College reporting for attendance and orientation

  • Commencement of classes by late June or early July 2025

Rajasthan University aims to ensure that the academic session 2025–26 begins smoothly without further delays.

The extension of the admission deadline to June 16 reflects Rajasthan University’s commitment to fair and transparent admissions. With an expanded seat count of 6,010 across diverse programs, RU ensures that no student is left behind due to technical glitches.
