Chirag Paswan Targets Tirhut and Mithilanchal Through Fifth Nav Sankalp Mahasabha in Muzaffarpur

Published on

As the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 draw closer, political activity in the state is intensifying. Central minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ramvilas) president Chirag Paswan is leaving no stone unturned to strengthen his party’s base across Bihar. After holding four successful Nav Sankalp Mahasabhas in different parts of the state, Chirag Paswan is now set to address his fifth major rally in Muzaffarpur.

The grand event will take place at the MIT grounds in Muzaffarpur and is expected to witness the presence of thousands of workers and supporters from Tirhut and Mithilanchal. Party leaders have already declared this gathering as a show of strength that will send a powerful political message ahead of the elections.

Muzaffarpur as the Next Political Battleground

According to party sources, the rally will focus on boosting enthusiasm among party cadres in North Bihar, particularly Tirhut and Mithilanchal. These regions are politically significant with a history of influencing assembly outcomes. Chirag Paswan is expected to remind the workers of their strength and encourage them to mobilize voters.

Party insiders reveal that Muzaffarpur district, which consists of 11 assembly seats, will be strategically important for LJP (Ramvilas). Chirag Paswan is likely to pitch for two constituencies—Kanti and Gaighat—during his address. Political analysts believe that this declaration will not only energize local cadres but also reinforce LJP’s bargaining power within the NDA alliance during seat-sharing talks.

Preparations in Kanti and Gaighat Constituencies

The LJP (Ramvilas) has already begun groundwork in Kanti and Gaighat. In the last assembly elections, the party had fielded a candidate from Gaighat but managed only a third-place finish. Kanti, which was contested by JD(U), also witnessed JD(U) slip to third position, creating an opening for LJP (Ramvilas).

With shifting political equations, LJP leaders believe these two seats could be realistic targets this time. Intensive groundwork, combined with Chirag Paswan’s growing popularity, might help the party secure better results.

Heavyweight Leaders to Attend the Rally

The Muzaffarpur Mahasabha will see the participation of several senior leaders from LJP (Ramvilas). Leaders like Jumui MP and Bihar in-charge Arun Bharti, state president Raju Tiwari, Vaishali MP Veena Devi, Samastipur MP Shambhavi, Khagaria MP Rajesh Verma, parliamentary board state president Hulas Pandey, principal general secretary Sanjay Paswan, treasurer Surendra Vivek, state vice president Ashraf Ansari, IT cell state president Amit Kumar Ranu, district general secretary Raj Kumar Paswan, and several others will share the stage with Chirag Paswan.

The presence of these leaders highlights the importance of the rally and the unity the party is attempting to project before the elections.

Administrative Measures for the Event

Given the scale of the rally and Chirag Paswan’s Z-category security cover, district authorities have made elaborate arrangements. Magistrates have been deployed from the MIT grounds to Dadar bridge to ensure smooth proceedings. District Magistrate Subrat Kumar Sen issued directions emphasizing law and order management.

Traffic arrangements and route charts have been prepared under the supervision of Additional District Transport Officer Vivek Kumar and DSP (Traffic) Manoj Chaudhary. Sub-divisional officers from both East and West Muzaffarpur, along with the SDPO, will oversee law and order during the event. These measures reflect the administration’s focus on preventing any disruptions.

Political Context Behind the Mahasabha

Chirag Paswan has been positioning himself as a key player in Bihar politics ever since taking over the leadership mantle of his party. The Nav Sankalp Mahasabhas are part of his larger strategy to consolidate support and demonstrate strength ahead of crucial seat-sharing negotiations with NDA allies.

So far, he has conducted four such Mahasabhas across the state, each attracting large crowds and reinforcing his image as a rising leader. The Muzaffarpur rally, being the fifth, is particularly important as it targets Tirhut and Mithilanchal, regions known for their strong political voice in the state assembly.

Focus on Worker Mobilization

The Muzaffarpur Mahasabha is not just about displaying numbers; it is also aimed at energizing the party’s grassroots workers. Chirag Paswan is expected to deliver a motivational speech, urging workers to reach out to voters and strengthen the party’s presence. By directly addressing the cadre, he hopes to build momentum that will carry into the assembly elections.

Political experts believe that Chirag’s style of rallying workers by acknowledging their contribution and making them feel empowered has been central to his rising popularity in Bihar politics.

Seat-Sharing Dynamics within NDA

One of the major talking points around the Muzaffarpur rally is its timing in relation to NDA’s ongoing seat-sharing discussions. LJP (Ramvilas) has already communicated its preferences to BJP, its senior ally. However, formal seat distribution has not yet been finalized.

By publicly asserting claims over constituencies like Kanti and Gaighat, Chirag Paswan is strengthening his bargaining position. Analysts note that such strategic declarations, made before a massive crowd, create pressure on allies to consider LJP’s demands seriously.

Chirag Paswan’s Nav Sankalp Mahasabha in Muzaffarpur represents a critical moment in Bihar’s pre-election atmosphere. With thousands of workers from Tirhut and Mithilanchal expected to attend, the rally will serve as both a show of strength and a platform to stake claims on key assembly constituencies.

The party’s preparations in Kanti and Gaighat, combined with Chirag’s assertive leadership, signal LJP (Ramvilas)’s ambition to play a larger role in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections. Administrative readiness, heavyweight leaders’ participation, and strategic messaging make this event one of the most significant political gatherings in recent weeks.

As Bihar inches closer to elections, Chirag Paswan’s actions will be closely watched, not only by his supporters but also by allies and opponents. The Muzaffarpur Mahasabha may well set the tone for LJP (Ramvilas)’s role in shaping the state’s political future.
