KKN Gurugram Desk | The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Delhi government is set to fulfill its election promise by launching the ‘Mahila Samriddhi Yojana’ (Women Prosperity Scheme). This scheme aims to provide financial assistance of ₹2500 per month to economically weaker women in Delhi.
On Saturday, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta held a meeting with officials to finalize the rules and conditions for implementing this scheme. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had already announced during the election campaign that the first installment of this scheme would be distributed on March 8, Women’s Day. CM Rekha Gupta also reiterated this commitment in a recent interview.
With preparations in full swing, women belonging to financially weaker families in Delhi should take a few essential steps to ensure they can avail of this scheme.

To successfully avail of the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana, applicants must prepare in advance by ensuring they meet the necessary requirements.
✔ The ₹2500 assistance will be directly transferred to the beneficiary’s bank account.
✔ If a woman does not have a bank account, she must open one immediately.
✔ If there has been no transaction in your bank account for a long time, verify that it is still active.
✔ Visit the bank and complete KYC (Know Your Customer) verification to ensure eligibility.
✔ Make sure that your personal mobile number is linked to your bank account.
✔ If an old number is linked, visit the bank and update it to avoid any transaction issues.
✔ Your Aadhaar card must be linked to an active mobile number.
✔ If it is not updated, visit an Aadhaar center or online portal to update it.
✔ Since this scheme is meant for economically weaker sections, an income certificate will likely be required.
✔ While the official income limit is not yet announced, BJP-led governments in Madhya Pradesh and Odisha have set it at ₹2.5 lakh per annum.
✔ If your family income is below this limit, it is advisable to get an income certificate issued in advance.
Although the final eligibility criteria are yet to be officially declared, the scheme will primarily benefit women from financially weaker families. The Delhi government is expected to follow a similar income limit as other BJP-led states.
