Ladli Behna Yojana July 2025 Update: Beneficiaries to Receive ₹1,500 Instead of ₹1,250 in 26th Installment

Published on

In a major relief for over 1.27 crore women in Madhya Pradesh, the government is set to disburse the 26th installment of the Ladli Behna Yojana this month. And there’s more good news: instead of the regular ₹1,250, beneficiaries will receive ₹1,500 this time — a special Raksha Bandhan bonus of ₹250.

This financial boost is part of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav’s latest announcement, in which he declared a festive one-time incentive for women enrolled in the scheme. The extra ₹250 will be deposited along with the regular July payment in recognition of the upcoming Raksha Bandhan festival, which falls on August 9, 2025.

When Will the 26th Installment Be Released?

As per government sources, the 26th installment of the Ladli Behna Yojana is expected to be released between July 10 and July 15, 2025. The transfer will be made directly into the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries.

This move is aligned with the state government’s ongoing initiative to empower women economically and ensure that festive occasions are celebrated with dignity, even in low-income households.

Why ₹1,500 This Month Instead of ₹1,250?

Currently, each beneficiary under the Ladli Behna Scheme receives ₹1,250 per month. However, for the month of July, the government will deposit an additional ₹250 as a festive gift or ‘Shagun’ for Raksha Bandhan.

This isn’t the first time such a bonus has been offered. Similar incentives of ₹250 were distributed in August 2023 and August 2024, setting a precedent for festive bonuses under the scheme.

Ladli Behna Yojana Monthly Payment to Increase Permanently from Diwali 2025

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also made another significant announcement recently in Indore. Starting from Diwali 2025, the monthly financial support under the Ladli Behna Yojana will be raised permanently from ₹1,250 to ₹1,500.

This enhancement is part of a phased plan to gradually increase the monthly assistance to as much as ₹3,000 per beneficiary. The government aims to offer greater financial independence to women in Madhya Pradesh and help them support their families with dignity.

Overview: What Is Ladli Behna Yojana?

The Ladli Behna Yojana is a flagship women’s welfare program launched by the former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in May 2023. Its primary objective is to provide monthly financial assistance to married women aged 21 to 60 years who are residents of Madhya Pradesh.

 Key Features of the Scheme:

  • Monthly Payment: ₹1,250 (to be increased to ₹1,500 from Diwali 2025)

  • Annual Benefit: ₹15,000 currently

  • Total Beneficiaries: Over 1.27 crore women

  • Total Disbursed So Far: ₹28,000 crore+

  • Inception Date: First installment released on June 10, 2023

Eligibility Criteria for Ladli Behna Yojana

To be eligible for the Ladli Behna Scheme, a woman must meet the following conditions:

 Age Criteria:

  • Must be born between January 1, 1963, and January 1, 2000

  • Minimum age: 21 years as of the year of application

  • Maximum age: Less than 60 years

 Marital Status:

  • Must be married (including widowed, divorced, or abandoned)

 Income and Social Status:

  • Annual family income should not exceed ₹2.5 lakh

  • Neither the woman nor her family should be:

    • Income tax payers

    • Holders of 4-wheelers (excluding tractors)

    • Landowners with over 5 acres

    • Employed in government jobs (permanent, contractual, or retired)

    • Holding public office (MLA, MP, or board member of a govt. body)

If a woman is already receiving another government pension or scheme less than ₹1,250 per month, she may still be eligible for top-up support under the Ladli Behna scheme.

Women Deemed Ineligible for the Scheme

Certain women are not eligible under the current rules of the scheme. These include:

  • Women or families with income tax payers

  • Families with government employees

  • Households owning tractors and four-wheelers

  • Families with more than 5 acres of land

  • Households where a member holds any elected post (excluding village panchayat panch or up-sarpanch)

  • Families with current or former MPs/MLAs

  • Beneficiaries of other welfare schemes offering ₹1,250 or more per month

Total Financial Support Given So Far

From June 2023 to May 2025, a total of 24 installments have already been credited to the beneficiaries’ accounts. The cumulative disbursal so far has crossed a whopping ₹28,000 crore, reflecting the scale and consistency of the program.

The 25th installment was deposited in June 2025, and now the 26th is expected soon in July, with the additional Raksha Bandhan bonus included.

Impact of the Ladli Behna Yojana

The scheme has had a transformational impact across Madhya Pradesh:

  • Increased financial literacy among women

  • Boosted independence and decision-making

  • Helped women contribute to household expenses, education, and healthcare

  • Empowered widows and single women with direct support

With plans to raise the amount to ₹3,000 in phases, the state is gearing up to make Ladli Behna one of the most generous women-centric schemes in the country.

With the upcoming 26th installment of the Ladli Behna Yojana, the Madhya Pradesh government continues to strengthen its commitment to women’s financial empowerment. The additional ₹250 as a Raksha Bandhan gesture is more than just a bonus — it’s a symbol of respect, support, and recognition for the vital role women play in society.
