Salman Khan Receives Death Threat: Accused Arrested by Mumbai Police

KKN Gurugram Desk |  Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has once again been targeted with a death threat. This time, the threat came via a message sent to the Mumbai Traffic Police’s official WhatsApp number. The message demanded a ransom of ₹2 crore, threatening to kill the actor if the demand was not met. Given the gravity of the situation, the Mumbai Police acted swiftly and arrested the suspect.

Death Threat to Salman Khan and Police Response

According to officials, the threatening message was received on October 29 on the Mumbai Traffic Police’s WhatsApp helpline. In the message, the sender clearly stated that if Salman Khan did not pay ₹2 crore, he would be killed.

Taking immediate action, the Worli Police Station registered a case under IPC Sections 354(2) and 308(4). By tracing the origin of the message, the police identified and arrested the accused, Azam Mohammad Mustafa, from the Bandra area on October 30.

The police are now questioning the accused to uncover his motives behind the threat. Initial investigations indicate that the individual acted alone, but further questioning is ongoing.

Not the First Death Threat for Salman Khan

This is not the first time that Salman Khan has faced such threats. Over the past few years, the actor has received multiple death threats, especially from members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

In March 2023, Salman Khan’s manager received a threatening email. The message read, “Goldy Bhai wants to talk to your boss Salman.” Following this, the Mumbai Police filed an FIR against Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar, known gangsters with a history of targeting high-profile celebrities.

In April 2023, a phone call was received by Mumbai Police in which the caller, identifying himself as “Rocky Bhai”, threatened to kill Salman Khan by April 30. Upon investigation, it was revealed that the caller was a minor, and he was taken into custody for questioning.

Mumbai Police Increases Salman Khan’s Security

With threats continuing to mount, Mumbai Police has significantly upgraded Salman Khan’s security arrangements. He has been granted Y+ security, which includes 11 trained security personnel guarding him 24/7.

In addition, Salman Khan now travels in a bulletproof vehicle, and security has been beefed up around his residence in Mumbai’s Galaxy Apartments.

This increase in security came after direct threats from the Bishnoi gang, which has held a grudge against Salman Khan since the 1998 Blackbuck Poaching Case, where Khan was accused and convicted.

Salman Khan Breaks Silence on Threats

Despite these threats, Salman Khan remains committed to his professional commitments. During the promotion of his recent movie Sikandar, the actor responded to the ongoing threats.

Speaking to the media, he said:

“God and Allah are watching over me. Whatever is written in my destiny, I’ll live that long. That’s all. The only issue is that now I have to travel with so many people. That becomes a bit of a hassle.”

His composed response won praise from fans and industry peers alike, showing the actor’s resolve in the face of adversity.

Background: Why Salman Khan Is Being Targeted

The death threats are believed to be linked to the 1998 Blackbuck Poaching Case, in which Salman Khan was convicted. The Bishnoi community, which reveres the blackbuck as sacred, has never forgiven the actor.

Lawrence Bishnoi, a notorious gangster currently under arrest, has publicly stated that Salman Khan is on his “hit list”. His associate Goldy Brar has also issued multiple threats, some via social media and others through intermediaries.

The threats escalated in 2023, forcing authorities to enhance security and initiate detailed investigations.

Salman Khan’s Career Amidst Security Concerns

Meanwhile, Salman Khan’s professional journey continues. Despite the security concerns, he has remained active in the industry. His recent film Sikandar did not perform as expected at the box office, but he continues to enjoy massive fan following across India and globally.

The actor is known for balancing mass entertainers with his philanthropic initiatives through the Being Human Foundation. Many fans see him not just as an actor, but as a larger-than-life personality committed to public causes.

Public Reaction and Social Media Buzz

News of the recent death threat against Salman Khan spread quickly on social media. Hashtags like #ProtectSalmanKhan, #SalmanKhanSecurity, and #JusticeForSalman began trending on platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram.

Fans expressed concern and demanded stricter punishment for those issuing threats. Many also urged the government to take decisive action against gangster networks targeting public figures.

What’s Next in the Investigation?

Police are currently examining whether Azam Mohammad Mustafa, the accused arrested from Bandra, has any connections with larger criminal gangs such as the Bishnoi network. His digital footprint, call logs, and social media interactions are being thoroughly examined.

Officials say the case is being treated as a top priority, and further arrests are not being ruled out. Mumbai Police Commissioner also assured the public that “every measure is being taken to protect Salman Khan.”

Despite recurring death threats, Salman Khan remains steadfast and continues to work without fear. The Mumbai Police’s quick response and arrest of the accused has been appreciated by fans and the public.

While investigations continue, the incident has once again highlighted the challenges faced by celebrities in India when it comes to safety and privacy.
