SSC Recruitment 2025: 437 Vacancies Announced for JHT, SHT, and Sub-Inspector

KKN Gurugram Desk | The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced a fresh recruitment drive under the Combined Recruitment Examination 2025 for Hindi Translators and Sub-Inspectors (Hindi Translator). A total of 437 vacancies are available across various ministries, departments, and organizations of the Government of India, including positions such as:

  • Junior Hindi Translator (JHT)

  • Junior Translation Officer (JTO)

  • Junior Translator

  • Senior Hindi Translator (SHT)

  • Senior Translator

  • Sub-Inspector (Hindi Translator) in CRPF

The online application window opened on June 5, 2025, and will remain active until June 26, 2025 (11:00 PM). Candidates can apply through the official SSC website: ssc.gov.in.

Eligibility Criteria for SSC Translator & SI (Hindi) Posts

1. Age Limit

For Sub-Inspector (Hindi Translator) – CRPF:

  • Minimum Age: 18 years

  • Maximum Age: 30 years

  • Date Reference: Candidates must be born between June 26, 1995, and June 26, 2007 (both dates inclusive).

For Other Posts (JHT, JTO, SHT):

  • Minimum Age: 18 years

  • Maximum Age: 30 years

  • Date Reference: Born between August 2, 1995, and August 1, 2007

Age Relaxation:

  • SC/ST: 5 years

  • OBC: 3 years

  • PwD, Ex-Servicemen, and others: As per government norms.

Educational Qualification: Who Can Apply?

To be eligible, candidates must have one of the following educational qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject at the degree level.
    OR

  • Master’s degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject.
    OR

  • Master’s degree in any subject, provided the medium of instruction was Hindi or English, and the other language was studied as a compulsory subject.

Application Fee

  • General/OBC/EWS Candidates: ₹100

  • Women/SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen: No fee

Fee payment can be done through online payment gateways like UPI, credit/debit cards, and net banking.

Selection Process: Two-Stage Examination

The SSC will conduct a two-tier selection process for these vacancies:

Paper-I (Computer-Based Test):

  • Objective Type Questions

  • Subjects: General Hindi, General English

  • Mode: Online

  • Marks: 100 per section (total 200)

  • Duration: 2 hours

Paper-II (Descriptive Test):

  • Translation and Essay Writing

  • Language: Hindi and English

  • Mode: Pen & Paper

  • Marks: 200

  • Only candidates who qualify Paper-I will be shortlisted for Paper-II.

Qualifying Marks (Minimum Cut-Off) in Paper-I

OBC / EWS 25%
Others (SC/ST/PwD) 20%

Candidates scoring equal to or more than the minimum qualifying marks in Paper-I will be shortlisted for Paper-II, subject to category-wise cutoffs.

Final Selection Criteria

The final selection will be based on the combined performance in both Paper-I and Paper-II. The category-wise merit list will be prepared considering:

  • Marks obtained in both papers

  • Document verification

  • Eligibility fulfillment

  • Reservation policies
