CSBC Bihar Police Constable Exam 2025: Recruitment for 19,838 Posts

The Central Selection Board of Constables (CSBC) has released an important update regarding Bihar Police Recruitment 2025. According to the notification, the second phase of the selection process for 19,838 constable posts will be conducted in December 2025.

The board also announced that the written examination for 4,361 driver constable posts will be held in the same month. This major recruitment drive aims to fill a large number of vacancies across different categories in Bihar Police.

First Phase Written Examination

The first phase of the recruitment process was the written examination. Under advertisement number 1/2025, the written test for constable posts was held in six stages between 16 July and 6 August.

The results of the written exam will be published soon. Based on the results, candidates shortlisted for the second stage will be called for the physical efficiency test in December 2025.

For driver constables, the written test will also be conducted in December. Candidates must prepare thoroughly, as both phases are crucial for final selection.

Vacancies for Driver Constable Recruitment

Out of 4,361 posts for driver constables, a clear reservation structure has been defined. 1,772 posts are unreserved. 436 are for the economically weaker section. 632 are for scheduled caste candidates. 24 are for scheduled tribes. 757 are reserved for extremely backward classes. 492 are for backward classes. 248 are reserved for women from backward classes.

This detailed reservation ensures fair opportunities for candidates from all categories. It also highlights the government’s focus on representation and inclusivity in police recruitment.

Vacancies for Constable Recruitment

The larger recruitment process is for 19,838 constable posts. Out of this, 7,935 posts are unreserved. 1,983 are reserved for the economically weaker section. 3,174 are for scheduled castes. 199 are for scheduled tribes. 3,571 are for extremely backward classes. 2,381 are for backward classes. 595 are reserved for women from backward classes.

Additionally, horizontal reservation has been provided for women across categories with 6,717 posts reserved. Dependents of freedom fighters will benefit from 397 reserved posts under horizontal quota.

This massive recruitment drive marks one of the largest police recruitment exercises in Bihar, creating significant employment opportunities.

Physical Test Scheduled for December

The second stage of the recruitment process is the physical efficiency test (PET). This stage carries a total of 100 marks and includes running, shot put, and high jump.

Candidates who qualify in the written exam will participate in this test. The physical standards have been set differently for men and women across categories. Meeting these standards is essential for moving forward in the recruitment process.

Height Requirements

For the constable recruitment, height requirements have been clearly defined.
For unreserved and backward class men, the minimum height required is 165 cm. For extremely backward class men, the minimum is 160 cm. For scheduled caste and scheduled tribe men, the minimum height is also 160 cm. For women from all categories, the minimum height requirement is 155 cm.

Chest Measurement Requirements

For men, chest measurement is another mandatory physical standard.
For unreserved and backward class men, the minimum chest measurement without expansion is 81 cm, and with expansion is 86 cm. For extremely backward class men, the standard remains the same. For scheduled caste and scheduled tribe men, the minimum chest measurement is 79 cm without expansion and 84 cm with expansion. In all cases, there must be at least 5 cm expansion between the two measurements.

Weight Requirements for Women

For women candidates across all categories, the minimum weight requirement is 48 kilograms. This is mandatory, and candidates who fail to meet the weight criteria will not qualify.

Details of Physical Efficiency Test

The physical efficiency test includes three parts: running, shot put, and high jump. Each part carries specific marks, making a total of 100. Candidates must score well in all parts to maximize their chances of selection.

Running Test for Male Candidates

Male candidates must complete a 1.6 km race within 6 minutes. Those who finish in less than 5 minutes will secure 50 marks. Completing the race between 5 minutes and 5 minutes 20 seconds will earn 40 marks. Between 5 minutes 20 seconds and 5 minutes 40 seconds will earn 30 marks. Between 5 minutes 40 seconds and 6 minutes will earn 20 marks. Any male candidate taking more than 6 minutes will be declared unsuccessful.

Running Test for Female Candidates

For female candidates, the distance is 1 km, to be completed in 5 minutes. Completing in less than 4 minutes earns 50 marks. Between 4 minutes and 4 minutes 20 seconds earns 40 marks. Between 4 minutes 20 seconds and 4 minutes 40 seconds earns 30 marks. Between 4 minutes 40 seconds and 5 minutes earns 20 marks. Female candidates taking more than 5 minutes will be declared unsuccessful.

Shot Put Test for Male Candidates

Male candidates must throw a 16-pound shot at least 16 feet. A throw between 16 and 17 feet earns 9 marks. Between 17 and 18 feet earns 13 marks. Between 18 and 19 feet earns 17 marks. Between 19 and 20 feet earns 21 marks. More than 20 feet earns 25 marks. A throw below 16 feet will result in disqualification.

Shot Put Test for Female Candidates

Female candidates must throw a 12-pound shot at least 12 feet. A throw between 12 and 13 feet earns 9 marks. Between 13 and 14 feet earns 13 marks. Between 14 and 15 feet earns 17 marks. Between 15 and 16 feet earns 21 marks. More than 16 feet earns 25 marks. Less than 12 feet will result in disqualification.

High Jump Test for Male Candidates

Male candidates must jump a minimum of 4 feet. Clearing 4 feet earns 13 marks. Jumping 4 feet 4 inches earns 17 marks. Jumping 4 feet 8 inches earns 21 marks. Clearing 5 feet earns 25 marks. Less than 4 feet will lead to disqualification.

High Jump Test for Female Candidates

Female candidates must jump a minimum of 3 feet. Clearing 3 feet earns 13 marks. Jumping 3 feet 4 inches earns 17 marks. Jumping 3 feet 8 inches earns 21 marks. Clearing 4 feet earns 25 marks. Less than 3 feet will result in disqualification.

Importance of the Recruitment Drive

The Bihar Police Constable Recruitment 2025 is one of the most significant recruitment exercises in the state. With nearly 20,000 constable posts and over 4,000 driver constable posts, it creates employment opportunities for thousands of youth.

The strict physical standards ensure that only the most capable candidates are selected. The transparent reservation system guarantees representation of all communities, making the force socially inclusive.

Preparation Strategy for Candidates

Candidates must prepare systematically for the physical test. Regular practice of running, high jump, and shot put is essential. Maintaining physical fitness, balanced nutrition, and endurance training will increase chances of success.

At the same time, mental preparation is important. Candidates must stay motivated, focused, and disciplined. Those who fail to qualify in the physical test will not proceed further, making this stage crucial.

The CSBC Bihar Police Constable Exam 2025 is progressing toward its second stage. The written test for 19,838 constable posts has already been completed. Results will be declared soon, and successful candidates will face the physical efficiency test in December 2025.

Simultaneously, the written exam for 4,361 driver constable posts will also be held in December. With clear guidelines for height, chest measurement, weight, and physical tests, candidates must prepare thoroughly.
