The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the Class 10 Supplementary Exam Result 2025. Students who appeared for the examination can now check their results through the official website cbseresults.nic.in. The announcement was made this afternoon and has brought relief and anxiety in equal measure among students who had appeared in the compartment exams.

This year, CBSE Class 10 supplementary exams were held between July 15 and July 22, 2025. The board conducted these exams for students who did not clear one or more subjects in the regular board exams held earlier this year.

CBSE 10th Supplementary Exam 2025: Overall Performance and Statistics

According to CBSE, a total of 1,43,648 students had registered for the supplementary exam. Out of these, 1,38,898 students appeared, and 67,620 candidates successfully passed. This brings the overall pass percentage to 48.68%, reflecting the mixed success of this year’s supplementary examination.

The pass percentage among female candidates stood at 51.04%, which was higher compared to male students. Among male candidates, the pass rate was recorded at 47.41%. These numbers highlight a continued trend of girls outperforming boys in CBSE board examinations, including supplementary attempts.

The supplementary exams were conducted in two shifts, depending on the subjects. Most papers began at 10:30 AM and ended at 1:30 PM, while a few ended earlier at 12:30 PM. On the first day, students appeared for exams in Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence. The schedule was designed to avoid overlaps and provide students with ample time for preparation.

How to Check CBSE Class 10 Supplementary Result 2025

Students who wish to check their CBSE 10th Supplementary Result 2025 can follow a simple step-by-step process. They need to visit the official website, locate the result link, and enter their roll number, school number, admit card ID, and security pin. Once submitted, the marksheet will appear on the screen, which can then be downloaded and saved for future use.

This marksheet will serve as an updated record of performance and can be used for admissions and eligibility verification.

CBSE Offers Photocopy and Re-evaluation Options for Unsatisfied Students

Students who are not satisfied with their supplementary result have the option to apply for answer sheet viewing, marks verification, and re-evaluation. CBSE allows students to request a photocopy of their evaluated answer script at a fee of ₹500 per subject.

For those wishing to verify marks, the board has set a fee of ₹500 per subject as well. If students identify errors and wish to apply for re-evaluation, they will have to pay ₹100 per question. These steps aim to maintain transparency and provide students with an opportunity to confirm the accuracy of their marks.

Such provisions by CBSE ensure a fair academic evaluation process and instill trust in the system. Students are advised to apply for re-evaluation within the timeline announced by the board to avoid disqualification.

CBSE Class 10 and 12 Main Exam Result Was Announced on May 13, 2025

Earlier this year, CBSE declared the main results for both Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations on May 13, 2025. In Class 10, 23.85 lakh students had registered, and 23.71 lakh students appeared. Out of these, 22.21 lakh students passed, which brought the overall pass percentage to an impressive 93.66%.

For Class 12, 17.04 lakh students had registered, and 16.92 lakh appeared in the exams. The total number of successful candidates was 14.96 lakh, resulting in a pass rate of 88.39%.

Despite the high pass percentages in both classes, over 1.41 lakh students in Class 10 were placed in the compartment category, making them eligible for the supplementary exam. The same was true for thousands of Class 12 students, whose supplementary results were declared earlier by CBSE.

CBSE Class 10 Supplementary Result Trends Over the Years

The CBSE supplementary results for Class 10 usually follow a mid-year pattern. Over the past few years, the declaration dates have varied slightly, but mostly fall between August and October. For reference, the result dates over recent years are as follows:

  • In 2025, the result was released on August 5

  • In 2024, also declared on August 5

  • In 2023, it was published on August 4

  • In 2022, results came out on September 9

  • In 2021, the result date was September 30

  • In 2020, it was declared on October 12

These historical patterns show CBSE’s commitment to early result processing and timely academic planning.

Importance of Supplementary Result for CBSE Students

The supplementary examination offers a second chance for students to improve their academic record and move forward without losing a year. Many students use this opportunity to qualify for admission in higher secondary classes or apply for skill-based programs.

With increasing academic competition, the importance of Class 10 results cannot be overstated. Even a single failed subject can impact a student’s future plans. The supplementary exams provide a practical way to recover lost ground.

This year, the result has given relief to over 67,000 students who can now continue their academic journey without delay.

Next Steps After CBSE Supplementary Results

After receiving their results, students who have passed must approach schools or admission centers for the next level of education. Those who have failed again or are unsatisfied with results can explore vocational courses, skill development programs, or open school options.

Parents and students are advised to consult school counselors to understand all possible options and plan accordingly. With the Digital India initiative, many resources and CBSE support helplines are now available online for assistance.

The CBSE Class 10 Supplementary Result 2025 has been released with a pass rate of 47.41% for boys and 51.04% for girls, reflecting an overall pass percentage of 48.68%. With 67,620 students clearing the exam out of nearly 1.39 lakh candidates, this year’s performance shows a stable academic recovery trend.

As students access their results from cbseresults.nic.in, the focus now shifts to re-evaluation requests, next academic steps, and new admissions. CBSE has once again ensured a fair and transparent process, giving students a second chance to improve their future.

For the most accurate updates, students should refer only to the official CBSE websites and avoid misleading third-party sources.
