BRA Bihar University has officially released the first merit list for 1.27 lakh undergraduate seats, marking the beginning of the enrollment process for the academic year. The list was made public on Friday, and the admission process will begin today, continuing until 12th July 2025. The classes for the new academic session will commence on 15th July 2025. As per the guidelines, online document verification is mandatory, and colleges are required to charge only the fees notified by the Raj Bhavan.

First Merit List Released for Undergraduate Admission

The first merit list for undergraduate admissions in BRA Bihar University has been issued, with 1,27,350 students selected for the available seats. This is part of the university’s undergraduate enrollment process for the 2025-29 academic session. The release of this list is a crucial step for students, as it determines their eligibility for further processing in their chosen courses.

From today, the admission process will take place across various affiliated colleges until 12th July, and the classes are expected to begin promptly on 15th July. In the meantime, colleges will update their reports, which will then contribute to the issuance of a second merit list after the initial enrollment phase.

Second Merit List to Be Issued After Initial Enrollment

Following the completion of the enrollment process by 12th July, colleges will update their records, which will lead to the second merit list being released soon after. The Dean of Student Welfare (DSW), Dr. Alok Pratap Singh, confirmed that the merit list for the 2025-29 session is already available and all the guidelines for enrollment have been shared with the colleges. This ensures that the entire process runs smoothly without any discrepancies.

Online Document Verification Required for Enrollment

BRA Bihar University has also issued specific instructions to all affiliated colleges, emphasizing the importance of online document verification. The university has made it clear that the admission process will only be completed after the documents submitted online by the applicants are thoroughly verified. If any discrepancies are found in the documentation, the enrollment of the concerned student will be canceled immediately.

This step aims to streamline the admission process and ensure that only eligible and correctly documented students are enrolled. The verification process serves as an important checkpoint to prevent any fraudulent activities and ensure that all candidates meet the required criteria.

Colleges to Follow Raj Bhavan’s Fee Structure

As part of the guidelines issued by the university, all colleges are mandated to charge only the fees notified by Raj Bhavan. Any discrepancies or deviation from the official fee structure will lead to strict action against the concerned college. Additionally, colleges must upload the fee structure on their official websites, and a copy of the admission fees must be submitted to the DSW office for further review.

The university has also stressed the importance of following the prescribed fee structure during the admission process. Any college found violating the prescribed rules or ignoring official guidelines will face severe consequences. This ensures transparency and fairness in the admission process across all affiliated colleges.

College-Specific Cutoff for Undergraduate Admissions

As expected, the cutoff marks for admission to undergraduate courses vary across colleges, with premier colleges witnessing higher cutoffs. BRA Bihar University has released a college-wise cutoff list, which specifies the minimum qualifying marks required for admission to various courses.

In some of the prestigious colleges, the cutoff for courses like Zoology, Psychology, Mathematics, History, Hindi, and Physics has been significantly high. For example, the cutoff for Zoology at LS College is 48.4, 48 at MDDM College, and 53 at RDS College. Similarly, other popular subjects like Psychology, Mathematics, History, Hindi, and Physics have seen a higher cutoff due to strong demand and competition among applicants.

On the other hand, for courses with fewer applications, the cutoff marks have been relatively lower, providing opportunities for students with slightly lower marks to secure admissions. The cutoff list for each subject and college reflects the level of competition, and students are encouraged to check their specific course and college details to understand their eligibility for admission.

How to Check the Merit List and Proceed with Admission

Students can easily check the first merit list on the official website of BRA Bihar University. The list will contain the names of the selected candidates along with their allotted colleges and courses. Students who have been selected in the first merit list will be required to complete the following steps for enrollment:

  1. Document Verification: Students must ensure that all the documents submitted during the application process are correct and genuine. The online document verification process will be conducted by the respective colleges.

  2. Payment of Fees: After document verification, students will need to pay the prescribed admission fees, as notified by Raj Bhavan.

  3. Final Enrollment: Once the fees are paid and documents are verified, students will officially be enrolled in their respective courses, and classes will commence on 15th July 2025.

The second merit list will be crucial for students who were not selected in the first list or those who missed the chance to enroll in the initial phase.

Students are advised to keep checking the official website for timely updates on the second merit list, and any changes to the admission process. Colleges will continue to update their records after the enrollment process is completed, and students should stay informed about their specific requirements for final admission.
