The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) is concluding its recruitment process today, 28 July 2025, for a total of 7279 posts of Special School Teachers under BPSC Special School Teacher Vacancy 2025. The online application window that began on 2 July 2025 will shut by the end of the day. Interested candidates must visit the official website, bpsc.bihar.gov.in, and complete the application without delay.

7279 Vacancies Announced for Classes 1 to 8

The recruitment aims to appoint qualified teachers to serve students with special needs in various districts across Bihar. The commission has announced 5534 posts for teaching Classes 1 to 5, and 1745 posts for Classes 6 to 8. These posts are intended for trained professionals who specialize in teaching children with disabilities and possess relevant qualifications recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).

Who Can Apply for BPSC Special School Teacher Posts?

Only candidates who have cleared the Bihar Special School Teacher Eligibility Test (BSSTET) are eligible to apply for these positions. They must also meet specific academic and professional training standards set forth for each category.

Educational Qualification Requirements

For teachers applying to teach Classes 1 to 5, candidates must have passed Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks. They must also hold a D.El.Ed in Special Education recognized by the RCI and possess a valid Central Rehabilitation Register (CRR) number. Alternatively, candidates with a diploma equivalent to D.El.Ed in Special Education from an RCI-approved institution and a valid CRR number are also eligible.

In addition, all applicants must have completed at least six months of training in cross-disability teaching.

For teachers applying to teach Classes 6 to 8, candidates must possess a graduation degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks. They must also hold a B.Ed in Special Education from an RCI-approved institute and a valid CRR number. Alternatively, those with a diploma or certificate equivalent to B.Ed in Special Education and a valid CRR number will be considered eligible.

Again, six months of cross-disability teaching training is mandatory for this category as well.

Age Limit for Applicants

The minimum age requirement to apply is 18 years. The maximum permissible age differs based on category:

  • General (Unreserved) male candidates: 37 years

  • Backward Classes and Extremely Backward Classes (both male and female): 40 years

  • Unreserved female candidates: 40 years

  • Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (both male and female): 42 years

  • Retirement age for all categories: 60 years

Applicants must ensure that their age is calculated as per the official notification guidelines at the time of application submission.

Application Fee Structure

Candidates will be required to pay an application fee based on their category:

  • General Category: ₹750

  • SC/ST: ₹200

  • All Women (reserved/unreserved): ₹200

  • Persons with Disabilities (40% or more): ₹200

  • All others: ₹750

Fee payment is to be made online through the payment gateway provided on the official website. Applicants should retain proof of payment for future reference.

Selection Process: Exam, Merit List, and Interview

The selection procedure for these teaching posts will involve a written test followed by merit list preparation and a final round of interview. Candidates are advised to prepare according to the syllabus specified in the official BPSC notification.

The written exam is expected to test candidates’ subject knowledge, understanding of inclusive education, and general aptitude related to teaching students with disabilities. Those who score above the qualifying marks will proceed to the next stages of evaluation.

Key Points to Note Before Applying

Candidates must ensure that they meet all eligibility conditions before filling out the application form. It is strongly advised to carefully read the complete official notification for detailed instructions on qualifications, experience, and documentation.

Any mistake in the application form or failure to fulfill eligibility conditions could lead to disqualification at any stage of the recruitment process. Also, candidates must ensure their documents, including the CRR number issued by RCI, are valid and updated.

Why Is This Recruitment Important?

The BPSC Special School Teacher recruitment is significant as it aims to improve inclusive education infrastructure in Bihar. With over 7000 vacancies, this is one of the largest drives dedicated specifically to special education. The selected teachers will be deployed to government schools that cater to children with various physical, intellectual, and sensory disabilities.

This step is part of Bihar’s broader strategy to fulfill the mandates of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act and provide equitable education to every child. Special educators play a vital role in addressing diverse learning needs, developing individual education plans (IEPs), and ensuring classroom inclusion.

What Happens After Application Submission?

Once the online application is successfully submitted, applicants should monitor the BPSC website regularly for updates on admit card issuance, exam schedule, and further selection rounds. All communication from the commission will be made via the official website.

Candidates are also advised to preserve a hard copy of the submitted application form and payment receipt. These documents may be required at the time of the examination or during document verification.

Today is the last date to apply for BPSC Special School Teacher Vacancy 2025. Candidates must not wait until the last hour to complete their application, as heavy traffic on the website could lead to delays or technical errors. Visit bpsc.bihar.gov.in now, check the eligibility conditions once again, and complete the application procedure before the deadline expires.
