The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has released the second merit list for Class 11 admissions. This list is for students seeking entry into 10+2 schools across Bihar under the OFSS Bihar system.
Students can check the merit list on the official OFSS Bihar website – www.ofssbihar.net. The list was made live at 11 AM today.
The second merit list is for students who applied in the first round but were not allotted seats. With this release, the admission process has resumed and schools are now accepting candidates as per the updated list.
All students must download their intimation letter and report to their allotted school by July 19, 2025.
To complete the admission process, students must follow these steps:
Visit www.ofssbihar.net
Login using your User ID and Password
Download your Intimation Letter
Visit the allotted school with original documents
Complete admission by July 19
According to BSEB, around 17.5 lakh seats are available in over 10,000 Plus Two schools across the state. The process is conducted through the Online Facilitation System for Students (OFSS).
Approximately 18 lakh students are expected to get admission through this centralized process in the academic session 2025–26.
If your name is not on the second merit list, you can apply again. The option-filling window will remain open from July 15 to July 19.
Key points:
Students can choose minimum 10 and maximum 20 schools
No additional fee will be charged for refilling preferences
These choices will be considered for the third merit list
This process gives students another chance to get allotted in preferred institutions.
Students who are not satisfied with their current allotment can opt for the Slide-Up feature.
Important guidelines for Slide-Up:
Only originally selected institutions can be chosen
No new institutions can be added in Slide-Up
You must first take admission in your allotted school
If you skip admission, your application will be cancelled
You can only move to a higher preference after admission
This option is also available only till July 19, 2025.
All schools have been directed to update student admission data on the OFSS portal on the next day of admission.
Failure to do so will lead to disciplinary action against the school principal or nodal officer.
This step is crucial to ensure real-time data syncing across the board.
After July 19, the third merit list will be generated. This will consider:
New student preferences submitted during July 15–19
Slide-Up choices for existing candidates
Available seat matrix across schools
Students should keep checking the OFSS portal for updates and release dates of the next merit list.
