KKN Gurugram Desk | A tragic road accident occurred in Bihar’s Buxar district early Sunday morning, claiming the lives of three individuals on the spot while leaving four others seriously injured. The incident took place near Harikishanpur turn under the Industrial police station area.

According to initial reports, a speeding car rammed into a stationary sand-laden truck on National Highway 922 (NH 922), resulting in a horrific crash.

On Their Way to Attend a Funeral

The victims, all residents of Shivpur Halt under Bikramganj police station in Rohtas district, were reportedly traveling to Buxar to attend a funeral. Unfortunately, their journey turned fatal due to the crash.

Car Crashed Into a Parked Truck on NH 922

The car, carrying seven passengers, was moving from Bhojpur towards Buxar when it collided with a stationary truck loaded with sand. The rear-end collision was so intense that the car was completely mangled, especially from the front.

Accident Happened Between 3:00 AM and 4:00 AM

Eyewitnesses claim the incident occurred between 3:00 AM and 4:00 AM. The sound of the impact was loud enough to wake nearby residents, who rushed to the scene. The visuals were horrifying, with the vehicle crushed and passengers trapped.

Three Dead on the Spot, Four Hospitalized

Among the seven occupants of the car, three died at the scene, while the remaining four sustained severe injuries. The injured were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. As per doctors, some victims are in critical condition.

Overspeeding – A Recurring Menace

According to locals, the car was moving at a very high speed, and due to darkness or lack of visibility, the driver likely failed to notice the stationary truck. The collision was unavoidable and catastrophic. Accidents like these are a regular occurrence in the region due to reckless driving and poor enforcement of road safety norms.

Police Investigation Underway

Local police reached the spot shortly after receiving information. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for postmortem, and an investigation is underway. Authorities are also trying to identify the owner and driver of the parked truck, which had no visible warning signs.

Reckless Driving & Poor Highway Management – A Deadly Combo

This tragedy once again highlights the unsafe conditions on Bihar’s highways. Heavy vehicles parked without reflectors or hazard signs are a common and deadly problem. Combined with high-speed driving, especially during nighttime, such situations become recipes for disaster.

Road Safety in Bihar: A Wake-Up Call

The Buxar accident is not an isolated event. It’s a reflection of a larger, systemic failure. From the absence of reflective markings on trucks to driver fatigue, poor lighting, and inadequate patrolling, multiple factors contribute to these accidents.

There is an urgent need for awareness campaigns, speed monitoring devices, and legal accountability to prevent such tragedies.

This unfortunate incident serves as a reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of responsible driving. While personal caution is crucial, government and traffic authorities must also act with urgency and responsibility.

Unless proper road management, vehicle regulation, and public awareness are implemented, such preventable deaths will continue to haunt Bihar’s highways.
