KKN Gurugram Desk | Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly and former Deputy Chief Minister, welcomed his second child—a baby boy—on Tuesday. His wife Rajshri Yadav delivered the baby at a private hospital in Kolkata. The news was confirmed by Tejashwi himself through a heartfelt social media post, accompanied by a photo of him holding his newborn son.

Social Media Announcement
Tejashwi Yadav took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the joyful news. He wrote:
“Good Morning! Finally, the wait is over. We are immensely grateful, blessed, and happy to announce the arrival of our baby boy. Jai Hanuman.”
The post received thousands of reactions and warm wishes from political leaders, party workers, and citizens across the country.
Family’s Presence in Kolkata
The child was born in Kolkata, where Tejashwi had already been staying in anticipation of the delivery. His parents, RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav and former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, also reached Kolkata a day earlier to be with their daughter-in-law during the birth.
According to sources, both mother and baby are healthy, and the family is spending time together in privacy.
First Child Born in 2023
Tejashwi and Rajshri became parents for the first time in March 2023, when they welcomed a baby girl named Katyayani. The name was chosen by Lalu Prasad Yadav, inspired by the goddess associated with strength and divine power. The baby girl was born during Chaitra Navratri, adding cultural and spiritual significance to the occasion.
Political Impact: A Pause or a Boost?
Though a personal matter, Tejashwi’s announcement comes at a politically interesting time. With Bihar expected to see more political activity ahead of upcoming bypolls and state-level mobilizations, the news humanizes the RJD leader, possibly softening his public image.
Political observers note that Tejashwi’s consistent focus on family values and cultural sentiments might resonate with rural and traditional voters. However, it remains to be seen whether he will take a brief pause from active politics or use this moment to launch a new outreach narrative.
