On the first day, popular playback singer Kailasa Kher will mesmerize the audience with his soulful voice. On the second day, Bollywood playback singer Salman Ali will perform, and the third day will feature a performance by singer Bhavya Pandit. These musical performances will be the highlight of the festival, offering a unique opportunity for the audience to enjoy the talent of these world-famous artists.

The grand opening of the Rajgir Mahotsav 2025 will be conducted by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday. The event will also see the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, Minister Shravan Kumar, and Arun Shankar Prasad, along with other distinguished guests. The inauguration will commence with the sound of the conch (Shankh Dhwani) and a traditional interfaith prayer (Sarvdharma Mangalacharan). This will be followed by a cultural evening filled with musical performances and traditional festivities.

Not Just Music: Cultural and Sporting Activities

The Rajgir Mahotsav 2025 is not only focused on music performances but will also feature a variety of cultural and sports activities. A significant attraction will be the village fair (Gramin Shri Mela), where local artisans and farmers will display their products. A book fair, food festival, and agricultural fair are also expected to attract many visitors. In addition, a Women’s Festival will host various competitions to celebrate the achievements and skills of women in the region. The event will also feature a wrestling competition (Dangal) and various other sporting contests, giving athletes a platform to showcase their talent.

Security and Facilities for Visitors

To ensure the safety and smooth operation of the festival, the Bihar Tourism Department and Nalanda District Administration have made extensive arrangements. There will be special attention to cleanliness and sanitation within the festival premises, with water and toilet facilities provided for the convenience of visitors. The Public Health Engineering Department (PHE) has installed water taps at three locations, and approximately 100 toilets have been set up. The event site will also have decorative lighting, stalls, and transportation arrangements, including beautifully decorated horse-drawn carts and palanquins (Tanga and Palaki).

Boosting Tourism and Local Economy

The Rajgir Mahotsav will not only promote cultural prosperity but will also help attract tourists and local people alike. The three-day festival is expected to increase tourism in Rajgir and its surrounding areas, bringing attention to the region’s rich history and natural beauty. Local businesses and artisans are likely to benefit from the influx of visitors, contributing to economic activity in the area. The festival will serve as a major boost to Rajgir’s tourism sector and will help enhance its reputation as a cultural and historical destination.
