Prashant Kishor Urges Nitish Kumar to Resign Over Health Issues and Mental Fatigue

Published on

KKN Gurugram Desk | The founder of the Jan Suraj Party, Prashant Kishor, has once again targeted Bihar’s Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, claiming that the veteran politician is both physically fatigued and mentally unfit to lead the state. Kishor, a prominent strategist and public figure, emphasized that Nitish Kumar’s deteriorating health has led to significant lapses in his cognitive abilities. According to Kishor, the Chief Minister has become so mentally unfit that he is reportedly unable to recall the names of his own ministers, which Kishor views as a severe indication of his inability to govern.

Mental and Physical Health Concerns: Prashant Kishor’s Strong Criticism of Nitish Kumar

In his latest remarks, Prashant Kishor expressed grave concerns over Nitish Kumar’s leadership capabilities, stating that the Chief Minister’s physical and mental condition is preventing him from fulfilling his duties effectively. Kishor went on to claim that he had received reports from officials close to the government, indicating that Nitish Kumar’s mental health has significantly deteriorated in recent times.

Prashant Kishor further added that Bihar’s governance is at risk under Nitish Kumar’s leadership, suggesting that the current Chief Minister should step down and allow a more capable leader to take charge. Kishor’s comments have sparked controversy and heated debates, especially as Nitish Kumar has been at the helm of the state’s politics for many years.

Prashant Kishor’s Allegations: Nitish Kumar’s Inability to Recall Cabinet Ministers

Kishor went on to make a pointed critique of Nitish Kumar’s cognitive state, claiming that the Chief Minister is so mentally exhausted that he is unable to remember even the names of his cabinet ministers. For a leader to forget the identities of those within his own administration, Kishor argues, is a clear indication that the individual is unfit for the position of power.

Prashant Kishor accused the ruling BJP of continuing to support Nitish Kumar as the Chief Minister despite his apparent mental decline. Kishor questioned whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah were aware of these issues and yet still allowed Kumar to remain in power. His comments are being seen as a direct challenge to the BJP’s decision to keep Nitish Kumar in power despite these concerns.

The Decline of Nitish Kumar’s Leadership: A Personal Attack by Prashant Kishor

Prashant Kishor’s criticisms are not new, and this recent outburst continues a long-standing feud between the two political figures. A few days earlier, Kishor had made similar comments in Vaishali district, calling Nitish Kumar “physically tired and mentally retired.” He challenged Kumar to prove his fitness for the position by recalling the names of his own ministers, highlighting the apparent disarray in the Bihar government.

Kishor went further to say that it was Sushil Kumar Modi, the former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, who first raised concerns about Nitish Kumar’s health back in 2023. He claimed that the signs of Nitish’s decline were visible then, and that the BJP had made a mockery of Bihar by continuing to support a leader who was mentally unfit for the position of Chief Minister.

The Role of BJP in Bihar Politics: Kishor’s Criticism of BJP’s Inaction

Kishor’s remarks also targeted the BJP, accusing them of disregarding the needs of Bihar and its people by allowing a leader who is mentally unfit to continue in office. He argued that if a soldier needs to be medically fit for duty, then surely the Chief Minister of Bihar, who holds a crucial responsibility for the state, should be held to a similar standard of fitness.

Kishor’s comments highlight the ongoing tension between him and the Bihar Chief Minister, and the increasing friction between the Janata Dal-United (JD(U))BJP, and other political parties in the state. His call for Nitish Kumar to step down has ignited political debate, with many calling for a change in leadership to better address the challenges facing the state.

The Impact on Bihar’s Political Landscape

This clash between Prashant Kishor and Nitish Kumar comes at a time when Bihar’s political environment is rife with uncertainty. Kishor, known for his electoral strategies, is positioning himself as a reformist leader who is challenging the established political figures in Bihar. His growing influence within the state’s political circles indicates that his criticisms of Nitish Kumar could have broader implications for the upcoming elections and the future of Bihar’s leadership.

Prashant Kishor’s call for Nitish Kumar to step down due to his health concerns is more than just a political statement; it reflects the growing discontent and dissatisfaction with the current state of governance in Bihar. As political analysts and citizens alike look on, the question remains whether Nitish Kumar will take these criticisms seriously and whether the BJP will respond to Kishor’s calls for a leadership change. The coming months will be critical in determining the future of Bihar’s governance and the direction of its political landscape.
