Drop in Patna’s Temperature
Patna witnessed a significant fall in maximum temperature. The city recorded 29.4 degrees Celsius, which is a drop of around 3.6 degrees Celsius from the normal level. Continuous cloud cover and intermittent drizzle throughout the day kept the temperature low. This change brought a sense of relief to the residents after days of warm and humid conditions.
Meanwhile, Kishanganj reported the highest maximum temperature in the state at 33.7 degrees Celsius, indicating that while certain regions saw relief, others still experienced relatively warmer conditions.
Rainfall Across Different Districts
The state recorded widespread rainfall in the past twenty-four hours. Champaran districts witnessed the heaviest showers. Chanpatia in West Champaran recorded 156.8 mm of rainfall, the highest in the region. Other areas such as Sikta in West Champaran saw 152.6 mm, Valmiki Nagar reported 116.8 mm, and Gopalganj recorded 104.2 mm of rain.
In Gopalganj’s Thawe, 80.6 mm rainfall was noted, while Marouna in Supaul registered 57 mm. Araria received 54.5 mm, Goriakothi in Siwan had 54.2 mm, Darbhanga recorded 53.2 mm, Siswan in Siwan noted 52.6 mm, and Noutan in West Champaran had 52.2 mm rainfall. Rosera in Samastipur recorded 52 mm, Shambhuganj in Muzaffarpur saw 51.8 mm, Chaurahi in Begusarai recorded 49.4 mm, Shivhar had 48.4 mm, and Kesaria in West Champaran noted 48.2 mm.
Warning of Heavy Rainfall and Thunderstorms
The Meteorological Centre in Patna has issued a warning of extremely heavy rainfall for Kishanganj and Sitamarhi. Additionally, heavy rainfall alerts have been sounded for Araria, Shivhar, East Champaran, and West Champaran. Winds at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour are expected in most areas.
Authorities have also issued thunderstorm and lightning alerts for twenty-five districts of Bihar. The department has advised residents to remain cautious during thunderstorms and avoid unnecessary travel in affected areas.
Rainfall Report from Key Cities
Apart from Patna, which recorded 0.3 mm of rainfall on Thursday, Gaya registered the highest rainfall among the major cities with 41.6 mm. Light to moderate showers were also reported in Samastipur, Araria, Kishanganj, and Forbesganj.
Due to the continuous rain, maximum temperatures across most districts dropped, except in a few places like Araria, Kishanganj, and Forbesganj where temperatures remained higher.

The weather department has shared updated temperature data from several key cities. In Patna, the maximum temperature stood at 29.4 degrees Celsius with a minimum of 26.3 degrees Celsius. Gaya reported a maximum of 31.2 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 26 degrees Celsius. Bhagalpur recorded 32.7 degrees Celsius as maximum and 27.5 degrees Celsius as minimum, while Aurangabad registered 31.8 degrees Celsius as maximum and 26.9 degrees Celsius as minimum.

According to meteorologists, there is little chance of any significant temperature change in the state over the next five days. Rainfall activity is likely to continue across many districts, with heavy rainfall expected in isolated regions. Residents are being cautioned about the possibility of flooding in low-lying areas if rainfall continues with the same intensity.
