Muzaffarpur SSC GD Exam Fraud: Two Arrested, Mastermind Still on the Run

KKN Gurugram Desk | A major cheating racket was busted during the SSC GD Constable Exam in Muzaffarpur, Bihar. Two individuals were caught red-handed attempting to manipulate the examination process. The incident took place on Thursday at Digital Zone IDZ Center near Ranjit Cold Store in Kacchi-Pakki.

According to reports, Akash Kuar, a candidate from Saran districthired Pintu Kumar from Vaishali district to take the exam on his behalf. During the biometric verification, authorities found discrepancies, leading to the exposure of this cheating attempt. Akash, who was hiding inside a bathroom at the exam center, was also caught.

The police have arrested both individuals and are searching for the mastermind, Ajit Kumar, who allegedly orchestrated this fraudulent scheme.

How Was the Exam Fraud Caught?

The fraud came to light when the Regional Manager in Patna alerted the exam officials about a suspicious candidate. Acting on this information, the Commanding Officer, Shubham Kumar, asked the suspected candidate to undergo fingerprint and photo verification.

Upon checking, it was confirmed that the biometric details did not match the original candidate. The invigilators then searched for the real candidate and found Akash hiding inside the bathroom.

The police were immediately informed, and both individuals were arrested. A case has been registered at the Sadar police station, and investigations are underway.

How the Cheating Racket Was Planned?

During interrogation, Akash Kumar admitted that he hired Pintu Kumar to take the exam for him. He further revealed that Ajit Kumar, a friend from Patna, was the mastermind behind this scheme.

According to sources, the entire plan was made in Dighi, Hajipur. Akash had personally registered for the exam and completed the biometric verification before the test. However, he was instructed to hide in the bathroom after completing biometric authentication.

Meanwhile, Pintu sat for the exam on his behalf. The fraud could have gone unnoticed if not for the sudden alert from the exam authorities.

Mastermind on the Run, Police Expands Investigation

The main suspect, Ajit Kumar, is still absconding. Police believe that he might be part of a bigger racket that facilitates proxy candidates for competitive exams.

The authorities suspect that this exam cheating gang may have operated in multiple locations across Bihar. The police are actively working to track down Ajit Kumar and uncover other accomplices involved in this organized cheating.

Further investigations are ongoing, and officials believe that more arrests could happen soon.

The Growing Issue of Proxy Candidates in Exams

This incident highlights a growing issue in competitive exams across India. With the increasing competition for government jobs, fraudsters have started using illegal means like proxy candidates, fake biometrics, and impersonation techniques.

In many cases, gangs charge thousands to lakhs of rupees to arrange fake candidates who take exams on behalf of others. Such malpractices not only destroy the integrity of exams but also create unfair advantages for dishonest candidates.

Education experts suggest strict monitoring, advanced biometric verification, and AI-based face recognition to curb such frauds.

How Does Exam Fraud Affect Genuine Candidates?

  1. Unfair Competition – Honest candidates lose opportunities to fraudsters who manipulate results.
  2. Diminishing Exam Credibility – The integrity of government recruitment exams is compromised.
  3. Legal Consequences – Candidates involved in fraudulent activities face legal action, affecting their future careers.
  4. Delays in Recruitment – Such incidents often lead to cancellation or delays in results, impacting thousands of applicants.

Authorities are now urging students and parents to avoid engaging in such illegal activities and report suspicious activities during examinations.

Government’s Role in Preventing Exam Fraud

The Bihar Police and Education Department are now working together to enhance security measures in competitive exams. Some of the proposed steps include:

  • Tighter biometric verification systems at exam centers.
  • CCTV surveillance to monitor suspicious activities.
  • AI-based monitoring to detect unusual candidate behavior.
  • Strict penalties and lifetime bans for those caught cheating.

Officials believe that strict punishments and advanced technology can significantly reduce such frauds.

What Happens Next in This Investigation?

With Akash Kumar and Pintu Kumar in custody, the police are now intensifying their search for Ajit Kumar. Investigators are also trying to identify other members involved in this exam cheating racket.

Authorities have urged candidates and educational institutions to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities during exams.

This case is still under investigation, and more updates will follow soon.

The SSC GD Exam Fraud in Muzaffarpur is yet another example of how cheating syndicates are targeting competitive exams. With two arrests made and the search for the mastermind ongoing, the police are committed to breaking this cheating network.

However, such incidents raise serious concerns about the fairness of government exams. To protect the future of deserving candidates, strict exam security, legal actions, and awareness are necessary.
