Major Traffic Restrictions in Patna for PM Modi’s Roadshow from Dinkar Golambar to Gandhi Maidan

Published on

Patna will experience significant traffic disruptions today as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s roadshow makes its way through the heart of the city. The roadshow, which will stretch across a distance of 1.6 kilometers, will result in widespread traffic restrictions in central Patna, particularly between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. The event is expected to cause major disruptions, as several key routes will be closed to public vehicles. Authorities have implemented a series of measures to manage the event, which include heavy security, road diversions, and restricted movement of vehicles.

Roadshow Route and Schedule

The roadshow will commence at 5 p.m., starting from Dinkar Golambar and moving towards Gandhi Maidan. The route will cover prominent areas, including Nala Road, Bari Path, Thakurbari Road, Bakarganj, and ultimately ending at Udyog Bhawan near Gandhi Maidan. Given the significance of the event, these main roads will be blocked for general traffic, which is expected to bring the flow of daily activities to a near halt in the city’s central areas.

After the roadshow concludes, the Prime Minister is scheduled to visit the historic Gurudwara Shri Harmandir Ji Patna Sahib. As part of the security arrangements, additional measures will be in place to ensure smooth movement and safety during the visit.

Traffic Restrictions and Diversions

Due to the roadshow, several major routes in Patna will be completely closed to the public. The roads leading through the heart of the city, including Dinkar Golambar, Nala Road, Bari Path, Thakurbari Road, Bakarganj, and Gandhi Maidan, will be off-limits from the afternoon. The district administration has specifically advised residents to complete any necessary travel within these areas by noon to avoid being caught in the traffic jams that will likely occur later in the day.

Traffic diversions had already been in place during the rehearsal on Saturday, resulting in significant congestion in areas such as Nehru Path, Link Road, and Bakarganj. Police have issued a warning that similar disruptions and traffic jams are expected on Sunday. In order to manage the expected chaos, the authorities have devised various traffic diversions to minimize the impact on regular commuters, but it is expected that congestion will be inevitable in these key parts of the city.

Special Vehicle Access and Security Measures

To ensure that essential services are not disrupted, only emergency and essential vehicles will be allowed to move through the restricted zones. This includes ambulances, fire brigades, patient transport vehicles, hearses, and vehicles associated with judicial or election duties. Special passes will be required for other vehicles that need access to the area.

In terms of security, a massive force of over 5,000 police personnel has been deployed to maintain order and manage the event’s logistics. This includes personnel from the Special Protection Group (SPG) and paramilitary forces, who will work alongside local police to secure the route. CCTV cameras have been installed along the entire stretch of the roadshow route, and rooftop surveillance units will also be in place to monitor activities from above. A dedicated control room will be actively monitoring real-time footage to respond to any security concerns.

Parking Arrangements for Spectators

With a large number of people expected to attend the roadshow, authorities have arranged parking for spectators at various locations across the city. Designated parking areas have been set up at Gandhi Maidan, Patna Science College, Patna College, Moinul Haq Stadium, and Congress Ground. To further minimize public inconvenience, pedestrian access routes have been designated to help spectators move from parking areas to the event venues with ease. Authorities have asked the public to adhere to these arrangements to ensure smooth movement and avoid further traffic disruption.

today’s roadshow by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Patna will bring the city to a standstill, particularly in the central areas. The 1.6-kilometer route, spanning from Dinkar Golambar to Gandhi Maidan, will be heavily restricted for traffic, with several key roads closed to the public. Residents have been advised to complete any necessary travel by noon to avoid congestion. With more than 5,000 police officers deployed for security and extensive traffic management plans in place, authorities are working to ensure the event runs smoothly. However, those in Patna should be prepared for major disruptions, especially between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. As always, residents are encouraged to follow official guidelines and make necessary adjustments to their travel plans.
