Jyoti Singh Responds to ‘Vote Katuwa’ Remark, Slams Manoj Tiwari

Published on

As the Bihar Assembly elections draw closer, Karakat constituency in Rohtas district has become one of the most keenly observed battlegrounds. The constituency is now witnessing a high-profile contest that has attracted significant attention, particularly due to the entry of Jyoti Singh, an independent candidate. The race is now a triangular one, with Jyoti Singh taking on JDU’s sitting MP Mahabali Singh and CPI(ML) candidate Arun Singh, who has been fielded by the Grand Alliance.

Jyoti Singh’s Entry Adds Star Power to Karakat Contest

Jyoti Singh, who is the wife of the popular Bhojpuri actor and singer Pawan Singh, has brought a mix of glamour and political intrigue to the Karakat race. Her entry has stirred things up, especially after her strong response to a comment made by BJP MP Manoj Tiwari, who had labeled her as a “vote cutter” during his campaign for the NDA. In an interview, Jyoti Singh shot back at Tiwari’s remarks, stating, “Manoj Tiwari is like an elder brother, but calling me a ‘vote cutter’ was unfair.”

She further clarified her position, saying that if she were truly sent by the opposition, she would have contested under a party ticket, not as an independent candidate. Her words were sharp and confident as she added, “The people of Karakat will give their answer on November 14,” referring to the date of the election.

Growing Public Support Makes NDA Nervous

Jyoti Singh expressed that her independent campaign has received overwhelming support from local voters. She claimed that this growing backing has left leaders of the NDA feeling uneasy and nervous. Her growing popularity has become a matter of concern for the ruling party, which might have underestimated the level of support she has managed to garner.

Her candidacy has gained momentum over the last few weeks, with people in the constituency increasingly showing interest in her vision for Karakat. Singh’s entry has been seen as a challenge to the JDU and CPI(ML), making the once predictable contest more complex.

Personal and Political Journey of Jyoti Singh

Jyoti Singh’s political journey is also closely tied to her personal story. Her decision to enter the political fray comes amidst a reported rift in her marriage with her husband, Pawan Singh. Pawan Singh, a popular BJP leader and well-known Bhojpuri singer, is a prominent figure in the region. The political dynamics within the Singh household have also fueled interest in Jyoti Singh’s entry into the electoral race.

The public has been intrigued by the drama surrounding her marriage and its impact on her political ambitions. While some speculate that the marital rift could have influenced her decision, others see her as a determined woman forging her own political path, separate from the shadow of her husband’s influence.

Karakat’s Electoral History and Unpredictability

The Karakat seat has a history of fluctuating political allegiances, which makes this election particularly unpredictable. In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Mahabali Singh from JDU emerged victorious under the NDA banner. However, in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Raja Ram Kushwaha from the CPI(ML) won the seat for the Grand Alliance. The shifting loyalties of the voters have made Karakat a volatile constituency, with no clear political trend emerging.

Now, with CPI(ML)’s Arun Singh contesting the seat alongside Jyoti Singh’s independent candidacy, the political equations in Karakat have become even more complicated. The entry of Jyoti Singh has only added to the unpredictability of the constituency, making it one of the most watched contests in Bihar.

A Triangular Contest for Karakat

As the election date approaches, all eyes are on Karakat. With Mahabali Singh representing the JDU, Arun Singh from CPI(ML), and Jyoti Singh as an independent challenger, the constituency has become a three-way contest, with each candidate trying to secure the support of local voters.

Jyoti Singh’s rise as a strong contender is a testament to the changing dynamics of Bihar politics. Her appeal to women voters and her focus on local issues have helped her gain traction in a short period. As the election date of November 14 nears, the political landscape of Karakat continues to evolve, with each candidate hoping to win the trust of the electorate.

In this unpredictable contest, the outcome remains uncertain, but one thing is clear—Jyoti Singh’s entry has definitely reshaped the political battle in Karakat, leaving both the NDA and Grand Alliance on edge. The voters of Karakat will have the final say on who will represent them in the upcoming Bihar Assembly.
