Intense Campaigning for Bihar Assembly Elections : Leaders Gear Up for Phase Two

Published on

The Bihar Assembly Elections are in full swing, with the second phase of voting scheduled for November 11, 2025. As the first phase continues on November 6, the political atmosphere is charged with intense rallies and widespread campaigning across the state. Key leaders like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi, Bihar Opposition Leader Tejashwi Yadav, and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar are leading the charge, addressing large crowds and promoting their respective agendas.

Political Rallies Across Bihar

Before the second phase of voting, a series of rallies have been held across various districts in Bihar. Prime Minister Modi addressed a rally in Farbisganj in the Araria district. He emphasized the NDA’s commitment to the development of Bihar under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Other prominent leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav, and Mayaawati, are also actively engaging with voters and pushing their political agendas.

On November 6, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati also held a rally in Bihar, marking another major political event. The high-profile campaign has drawn significant attention as Bihar’s election battle intensifies.

Bihar Election Phase Two: Candidate Profile Insights

As the second phase approaches, a detailed analysis of the candidates for the upcoming phase has been released. According to reports from the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and Bihar Election Watch, among the 1302 candidates contesting in 20 districts for 122 constituencies, nearly 43% of candidates are millionaires, and around 32% face criminal charges. In terms of educational qualifications, 48% of the candidates have a graduate degree or higher. The voter base also includes a significant percentage of women candidates, with 10% of the candidates being female.

Tejashwi Yadav’s Address in Madhubani

In Madhubani, Tejashwi Yadav, leader of the opposition in Bihar, addressed a rally in Laukha, where he sharply criticized the NDA government. He promised that if his party forms the government, they would implement policies within 20 months that the NDA failed to implement in 20 years. He also announced a special financial aid plan for women, stating that ₹30,000 would be deposited in the bank accounts of women on Makar Sankranti. In addition, he promised government jobs for one member of every family and 200 units of free electricity.

Amit Shah’s Speech in West Champaran

In West Champaran, Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a massive rally. He reminded the people of the misrule during the tenure of Lalu Yadav and Rabri Devi. He said that Bihar had suffered under their 15 years of rule, marked by crime, kidnappings, and scams. Shah highlighted how Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s leadership had brought the state on the path of development, under the Double Engine Government.

Controversies and Protests During Voting

Amidst the political excitement, there have been a few controversies and protests during the voting process. In Bhojpur’s Agiyanv constituency, villagers in Kusumi blocked the voting in protest over a road construction issue. Despite the local polling station reporting only three votes cast, villagers maintained that no one from the village had participated in the voting.

Prime Minister Modi’s Criticism of Congress and RJD

At several rallies, Prime Minister Modi lashed out at the Congress and RJD for their past actions. He accused Congress of fueling communal riots and stated that the party’s past actions, such as the Bhagalpur riots and 1984 anti-Sikh riots, had left deep scars. He further stated that these riots remain symbols of Congress’ misrule.

In Farbisganj, Modi also took a strong stance on the issue of illegal immigration, vowing to track and deport infiltrators. He also praised the NDA government for its pro-poor policies, including housing for every poor family.

As Bihar prepares for the second phase of voting, the political landscape is becoming increasingly heated with powerful speeches and bold promises from all political sides. With several leaders actively campaigning and addressing voters, the tension and competition among the parties are palpable. As the election date approaches, the fate of Bihar’s next government remains in the hands of its voters.
