INDIA Alliance Voter Rights Yatra Reaches Sitamarhi, Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav Offer Prayers at Janaki Temple

Published on

The INDIA alliance’s Voter Rights Yatra entered its twelfth day in Bihar with a stop at Sitamarhi. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav visited the famous Janaki Devi Temple to seek the blessings of Goddess Sita. Their presence created a wave of enthusiasm among supporters and party workers gathered in large numbers.

Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav at Janaki Devi Temple

On Thursday morning at around 8:30 AM, Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav performed rituals at the sacred Janaki Devi Temple. The leaders offered prayers and paid their respects to Goddess Sita before resuming the Yatra. The Congress party shared photographs from the temple visit on its official social media handle, generating widespread attention. The images showcased the spiritual beginning of the day as both leaders prayed for the success of their campaign.

Journey Across Bihar Gains Momentum

The Voter Rights Yatra has already covered several districts including Gaya, Nawada, Sheikhpura, Lakhisarai, Munger, Katihar, Purnia, Madhubani, and Darbhanga. On its twelfth day, the Yatra reached Sitamarhi, drawing thousands of supporters along the route. People turned out in large numbers to greet the leaders, chanting slogans in support of the INDIA alliance and their demands for stronger voter rights.

Road Ahead for the Yatra

From Sitamarhi, the Yatra is scheduled to move towards West Champaran, Saran, and Bhojpur districts. It will finally reach Patna on the sixteenth day, marking a significant milestone in the campaign. Unlike traditional rallies, the INDIA alliance plans to conclude the Yatra with a grand Patna March on September 1. This march is expected to be addressed by top leaders of the alliance, focusing on issues of democracy, voter empowerment, and accountability.

Enthusiasm Among Supporters

Every stop of the Yatra has witnessed remarkable public participation. In Sitamarhi, the enthusiasm was particularly high due to the temple visit of Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav. Party workers welcomed them with chants, slogans, and garlands, emphasizing their commitment to protect democratic values. The presence of young voters and local activists highlighted the Yatra’s growing appeal among different sections of society.

Political Message of the Yatra

The Voter Rights Yatra is being seen as a crucial political initiative by the INDIA alliance ahead of the upcoming elections. The journey emphasizes safeguarding constitutional rights and strengthening the voice of voters across Bihar. Leaders like Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav are presenting the Yatra as more than just a political campaign; they frame it as a mass movement to defend democracy and empower citizens.

Focus on Patna March

The culmination of the Yatra in Patna on September 1 has been planned as a symbolic event. Instead of a conventional rally, the leaders will participate in a Patna March, engaging with the public in multiple areas. The march will serve as a platform for alliance leaders to address concerns over governance, rising unemployment, and issues of social justice. The event is expected to highlight unity within the alliance and send a strong message to their political opponents.

Symbolism of Janaki Temple Visit

The decision to begin the Sitamarhi leg with a visit to the Janaki Devi Temple carries deep symbolic value. Sitamarhi is believed to be the birthplace of Goddess Sita, a revered figure in Indian tradition. By offering prayers at this historic temple, Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav not only sought divine blessings but also connected emotionally with the cultural sentiments of the people. The temple visit underlined the alliance’s intent to blend political messaging with cultural resonance.

Growing Momentum Across Bihar

As the Yatra progresses, participation from local leaders, students, women, and farmers has increased. The campaign is slowly transforming into a state-wide movement where citizens actively engage with leaders. Reports from different districts show how the Yatra has become a talking point in villages, towns, and cities, raising awareness about voter rights and political accountability.

The INDIA alliance’s Voter Rights Yatra reaching Sitamarhi marks a significant point in its Bihar journey. With Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav seeking blessings at the Janaki Devi Temple, the campaign combined spirituality with political outreach. The road ahead through West Champaran, Saran, Bhojpur, and finally Patna will be crucial in shaping the momentum of the alliance. The planned Patna March on September 1 is set to be the defining moment, reflecting the alliance’s collective vision for democracy, unity, and empowerment of voters.
