BPSC 71st Exam : Bihar Government Announces Incentive Scheme for Women Candidates

Published on

The Bihar government has officially announced a new incentive scheme under the Civil Service Promotion Plan for women candidates who have cleared the 71st Preliminary Test (PT) of the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). This initiative aims to encourage women candidates from the General Category, Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), and Backward Classes (BC) by offering a financial incentive of ₹50,000. The scheme is open for eligible candidates from Bihar who meet the specified criteria, and the last date to apply is December 31, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria for the Incentive Scheme

To be eligible for this incentive under the BPSC 71st exam scheme, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  1. The applicant must be a permanent resident of Bihar.

  2. The candidate should not belong to the SC, ST, or OBC categories as per Bihar Government classification.

  3. The candidate must have passed the 71st Preliminary Test (PT) of BPSC.

  4. Each candidate is eligible for the incentive only once under this scheme.

  5. Government employees or those working in government-financed institutions are not eligible for this incentive.

Application Process and Required Documents

Interested candidates can apply online through the official portal at wcdc.bihar.gov.in/Careers. The application process is open until December 31, 2025. Along with the application, candidates are required to upload the following documents:

  • A self-attested copy of the photograph and signature

  • A self-attested copy of the admit card for the 71st BPSC PT

  • A caste certificate for candidates from the backward class category

  • Aadhaar card

  • Residential proof

  • A scan of an active bank passbook in the candidate’s name

Additionally, the candidate’s email ID must be active as all communication related to the application will be sent via email. Candidates must ensure that their Aadhaar is linked to their bank account (Aadhaar Seeding) for the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) of the incentive amount. Any candidate whose bank account is not linked to Aadhaar will not receive the incentive payment.

Important Clarifications for Applicants

The Bihar government has set some important conditions for candidates applying for the incentive scheme. If the candidate is already working in a government or public sector organization, they are not eligible for the incentive. Furthermore, those who have already received a similar incentive through any other department or scheme are also excluded. In such cases, candidates must submit a sworn affidavit from a First Class Judicial Magistrate or an Executive Magistrate, confirming that they have not received such a benefit previously.

Incentive Scheme for Divyang Candidates in Bihar

In addition to the women candidates, the Bihar government has also launched a separate incentive scheme for disabled (Divyang) candidates in the state. This initiative is aimed at helping disabled candidates prepare for civil services exams, including the BPSC and UPSC. The scheme provides a financial incentive of ₹50,000 for disabled male candidates from the General, EWS, and BC categories who clear the 71st BPSC PT. These candidates can apply through a dedicated portal from December 15, 2025, to January 14, 2026.

The scheme was launched by the Secretary of the Social Welfare Department, Bandana Preyashi, at the departmental office in Patna. The Secretary emphasized that this portal would facilitate the application process for eligible candidates under the Divyangjan Civil Service Incentive Scheme. She further added that the scheme will support disabled candidates in their preparation for the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) and Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exams.

Additional Support for Divyang Candidates

Under the Chief Minister’s Divyangjan Empowerment Scheme, ‘Sambal,’ the Bihar government has introduced a new initiative for disabled candidates. This scheme offers financial support to disabled male candidates from the backward classes, economically weaker sections, and the general category. Those who are preparing for the BPSC and UPSC exams will receive an incentive of ₹50,000 and ₹1 lakh, respectively, to aid their preparation for the exams and interviews.

The launch of this scheme highlights the Bihar government’s commitment to empowering disabled candidates and providing them with the necessary financial support to pursue civil services. With the application process set to open in mid-December 2025, eligible disabled candidates will soon have the opportunity to benefit from this unique initiative.

The Bihar government’s incentive schemes for both women and disabled candidates are part of an ongoing effort to support and encourage individuals from diverse backgrounds to pursue civil services careers. By providing financial incentives, the state aims to make the civil services more accessible and achievable for a broader spectrum of candidates, especially those who may face financial or social barriers.

For women candidates from General, EWS, and BC categories who have passed the BPSC 71st Preliminary Test, the ₹50,000 incentive offers a valuable opportunity to support their exam preparation. Similarly, the new scheme for disabled candidates will help bridge gaps in access to resources and foster a more inclusive approach to civil service recruitment.

These initiatives reflect a growing trend of states offering targeted support to disadvantaged groups, promoting equality in access to government positions. As Bihar continues to develop and modernize, such schemes play an essential role in ensuring that all candidates have the resources and encouragement they need to succeed in highly competitive exams like the BPSC.

The Bihar government’s efforts underscore the importance of inclusive policies that promote equal opportunities for all citizens, regardless of gender, disability, or social background.
