Bihar Weather Update : Temperature Drops and Fog Increases in Patna and Surrounding Areas

Published on

As the winter season settles in, people in Bihar have started pulling out their blankets and warm clothing. The cold weather is now becoming more noticeable, especially during the early mornings and evenings, prompting many to wear sweaters and jackets before stepping outside. According to weather reports, this trend is expected to continue, with a drop in temperatures over the next few days. The Meteorological Department has urged people to take precautions as the cold intensifies. Here’s a detailed update on the current weather conditions in Bihar.

Bihar Weather Update: Cold Wave and Fog Affecting Several Districts

The cold wave in Bihar has intensified, with temperatures plummeting to around 13 degrees Celsius in many parts of the state. The Meteorological Department has forecast that the weather will remain dry for the next four to five days due to the westerly winds. During this period, temperatures are expected to stay mild, but people can expect to feel the chill, especially during the mornings and evenings. The morning fog has been noticeable in several areas, including Patna and other parts of the state.

As per the weather department’s prediction, there won’t be any significant changes in temperature over the next two days in most parts of Bihar. However, after that, there will be a gradual dip in the minimum temperatures, signaling a more intense cold spell. People have been advised to wear warm clothes and be cautious when stepping outside during the early hours and evenings.

Weather Conditions Across Different Districts

Today’s weather update reveals that certain districts, including West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Gopalganj, and Darbhanga, have experienced light fog since the morning hours. However, by around 9 AM, cities like Patna, Purnea, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur, Gaya, and Munger saw the sun peeking through, offering a brief respite from the foggy conditions. The weather department also confirmed that there would be little change in the minimum temperatures over the next 48 hours in most parts of the state. However, a drop of two to four degrees in minimum temperatures is expected in several regions in the coming days.

Temperature Details and Weather Trends

In the past 24 hours, Bihar’s weather remained dry, with no significant rainfall or disturbances. The highest recorded temperature in the state was 30.8 degrees Celsius, recorded in Purnea. The overall maximum temperature across the state ranged between 26.9 and 30.8 degrees Celsius, with little variation observed in the maximum temperatures across different regions.

On the other hand, the lowest recorded minimum temperature was 13 degrees Celsius at Pusa in Samastipur. The minimum temperatures in most parts of Bihar ranged between 13 and 20 degrees Celsius. The minimum visibility during foggy conditions was recorded at 1,000 meters in Patna and Purnea. Despite the fog, air travel was not significantly impacted in these regions, with no major disruptions reported in flight services.

Precautionary Measures for the Public

As the cold weather intensifies, the Meteorological Department has recommended that residents take necessary precautions, especially when venturing outdoors during early mornings and late evenings. The drop in temperatures is expected to continue, and the presence of fog in the mornings will likely lead to poor visibility in several parts of the state. This could pose challenges for daily commuters and travelers, so it is advisable to keep extra warm clothing handy and ensure that visibility is not compromised while driving.

Residents are also urged to stay updated with weather forecasts and be cautious about any sudden changes in weather conditions. Farmers in rural areas should prepare for colder nights and take steps to protect crops that may be sensitive to freezing temperatures.

In conclusion, the weather in Bihar is taking a definite turn towards the colder side, with temperatures steadily dropping and the onset of fog in several districts. While the immediate forecast suggests no drastic temperature changes, the coming days will witness a noticeable dip in the minimum temperatures. The foggy mornings and cool evenings are likely to become a regular feature, making it essential for the public to stay prepared for the winter chill. It is important to follow the advice of the Meteorological Department and take adequate precautions to stay warm and safe as the cold wave grips Bihar in the coming weeks.
