Bihar Weather Forecast and Fog Alert

Published on

The current weather patterns in Bihar are creating a challenging situation for residents across the state. Dense fog and cold westerly winds have led to conditions that feel like a cold day. Most districts are experiencing a significant drop in visibility during the early morning hours. Despite the biting chill the minimum temperatures have stayed above a specific level. No city in the state has recorded a temperature below ten degrees Celsius yet. This is why officials have not formally declared a cold day in Bihar.

Impact of Cold Winds and Humidity

The persistent westerly winds are making the air feel much colder than the actual temperature. People are feeling the sharp sting of the wind throughout the day and night. However there is hope for a change in the weather soon. Meteorological experts predict a shift in the atmosphere starting from December 23. This change is expected to bring some partial relief to the people of the state. Until then the mix of high humidity and cold winds will continue to prevail.

Specific Fog Warnings for Sunday and Monday

Morning commuters should be extra cautious on Sunday and Monday across the state. Dense to moderate fog will cover most major cities during the early hours. Visibility on the highways is expected to be quite low in the morning. The fog usually begins to clear up as the day progresses and temperature rises. Sunday has specifically seen heavy fog in districts like West Champaran and East Champaran. Other areas like Sheohar and Sitamarhi are also facing similar foggy conditions today.

Visibility Issues in North Bihar Districts

The northern parts of the state are currently seeing the thickest blanket of fog. Madhubani district is one of the regions reporting very low visibility on Sunday morning. In some places the fog is extremely dense while others have a moderate cover. This seasonal mist is affecting the normal movement of traffic and public transport. People are advised to use fog lights while driving on the state highways. The weather department is monitoring the situation closely in these specific northern districts.

Temperature Trends and Recent Observations

The temperature levels across the state are not expected to change much soon. Maximum temperatures will likely remain stable for at least the next two days. Similarly the minimum temperatures are not predicted to fluctuate for four days. On Saturday about seventeen districts in the state experienced very dense fog. Other districts saw a lighter or moderate level of mist during the morning. The lowest temperature recently recorded was twelve degrees in Sabour and Dehri.

Weather Situation in Western and Central Bihar

A few locations in western and central Bihar might experience cold day conditions. These areas are feeling the direct impact of the cold winds more intensely. The lack of proper sunlight is making the daytime environment quite uncomfortable. Local residents are staying indoors to protect themselves from the chilly atmosphere. The steady flow of winds is preventing the earth from warming up during the day. This trend is likely to continue for at least another forty eight hours.

Patna Weather Update and Sun Visibility

The capital city of Patna is also struggling with a lack of bright sunshine. Patna residents woke up to a thick layer of fog this Sunday morning. The sky is expected to remain mostly cloudy during the afternoon hours today. This means the people of Patna might not see the sun today. It would be the fourth consecutive day of missing sunshine in the capital. The cloudy sky is keeping the maximum temperature much lower than the normal range.

Recorded Data for Patna City

Saturday was also a cold and foggy day for the residents of Patna. The city saw a moderate level of fog during the morning hours yesterday. The maximum temperature in Patna was recorded at sixteen point six degrees Celsius. Meanwhile the minimum temperature was around twelve point eight degrees Celsius. These numbers show that the daily temperature range is becoming quite narrow. The constant cloud cover is the primary reason for this persistent chilly weather.

Relief Expected After December 23

The current forecast suggests that the weather will start improving from Tuesday. The movement of the winds might change direction to bring some much needed warmth. Once the clouds clear up the sun will help in rising the daytime temperature. This will provide relief to the elderly and children who are most affected. The state administration is keeping a watch on the health impacts of this cold spell. Everyone is looking forward to the predicted changes in the coming week.

Safety Precautions for Dense Fog

Drivers are urged to maintain a safe distance from other vehicles on the road. The visibility in districts like West Champaran and Madhubani can be very unpredictable. People should also avoid unnecessary travel during the late night and early morning. Wearing layered clothing is the best way to stay warm in this damp weather. The combination of fog and cold winds can lead to various seasonal illnesses. Staying updated with the latest news is essential for planning daily commutes.
