Bihar CM Nitish Kumar to Interact Directly with Consumers on 125 Units Free Electricity Scheme

Published by

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will directly connect with domestic electricity consumers on Tuesday to discuss the state’s recently announced free electricity initiative. Under the new scheme, households in Bihar will receive 125 units of electricity free every month.

The interaction aims to inform consumers about the benefits of the scheme and gather feedback for better implementation. Officials have made extensive preparations to ensure smooth execution of the event.

Program Arrangements Across Power Supply Divisions

Each power supply division in Bihar has identified four designated venues where the interaction will be shown live. These venues will be equipped with LED screens, projectors, or televisions to broadcast the Chief Minister’s address.

The goal is to create awareness about the 125 Units Free Electricity Scheme and encourage consumers to actively participate in the feedback process.

Patna District to Host Major Participation

In Patna district alone, 152 locations have been set up for consumers to join the program through webcasting. District headquarters will also connect with the event via video conferencing.

The central program for Patna will take place at the Urja Auditorium. Here, the Chief Minister will engage with beneficiaries of the Vidyut Upbhokta Sahayata Yojana, listening to their experiences and suggestions.

Technical Support for Uninterrupted Broadcast

To ensure uninterrupted live transmission of the Chief Minister’s message, the South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited has formed a dedicated technical team.

The program will be broadcast through both video conferencing and live streaming, allowing participation from even remote locations. Officials say this setup will ensure maximum outreach and smooth communication.

Energy Minister’s Statement on the Initiative

Energy Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav stated that this direct interaction gives people a rare opportunity to provide feedback directly to the government. According to him, the session will help improve implementation of the scheme and strengthen transparency in governance.

The minister emphasized that listening to beneficiaries is essential for understanding on-ground realities and making necessary improvements.

Importance of the 125 Units Free Electricity Scheme

The scheme is expected to reduce financial pressure on households, particularly in rural and low-income areas. It aims to ensure that basic electricity needs are met without burdening family budgets.

By offering 125 units free every month, the government hopes to promote equitable access to electricity and improve living standards across Bihar.

Expected Consumer Engagement and Impact

Officials anticipate high participation from consumers across the state. The live interaction will not only spread awareness but also allow citizens to voice concerns, share success stories, and highlight any issues in service delivery.

Such engagement is expected to enhance public trust in government programs and encourage community involvement in monitoring the scheme’s progress.

The state government is positioning this initiative as part of its broader strategy to make public service delivery more transparent. By involving consumers directly in discussions, authorities aim to ensure accountability at every stage of the scheme’s rollout.
