A crucial cabinet meeting was held today at the Main Secretariat’s Cabinet Hall in Bihar. The meeting began at 10:30 AM and concluded with major policy decisions. A total of 30 proposals were approved by the Bihar government.

Among the most significant decisions, the cabinet has approved an ambitious employment plan. The Bihar government aims to create jobs and livelihood opportunities for 1 crore people by the year 2030. This move is expected to generate massive employment across sectors in the next five years.

Last week, the cabinet had approved 43 proposals in a similar high-level meeting.

Doctors Dismissed from Service After Review

Four government doctors have been officially dismissed from their positions due to service-related concerns.

These include:

  • Dr. Chandan Kumari, posted at Majhaul Subdivision, Begusarai.

  • Dr. Kritika Singh, from Lakhisarai Primary Health Center.

  • Dr. Nimisha Rani, medical officer at Jamui Sadar Hospital.

  • Dr. Kriti Kiran, working at the Halasi Community Health Center in Lakhisarai.

All four dismissals were approved during today’s cabinet session after due administrative procedure.

Bihar Sugarcane Recruitment Rules Cleared

The cabinet also approved the 2025 Bihar Sugarcane Service Recruitment and Conditions Rules. These rules aim to streamline the recruitment and service policies under the sugarcane industry department.

This move is expected to boost transparency and structured hiring within the sector.

₹6000 One-Time Payment for BLOs and Supervisors

To support intensive voter list revision efforts, the government has sanctioned a special fund. A one-time honorarium of ₹6,000 will be provided to each BLO (Booth Level Officer) and BLO Supervisor.

This payment is above their existing annual honorarium.

In total:

  • 77,895 BLOs

  • 8,245 BLO Supervisors
    will receive the one-time payment.

For this, the cabinet approved a fund of ₹51.68 crore. This will support smooth operations in the special electoral roll revision drive.

Nearly ₹4,000 Crore Approved for Teachers’ Assistant Grant

With the end of the non-financial education policy, a major financial package has been cleared.

Teachers and staff of aided secondary and higher secondary schools will receive assistant grants.

A total of ₹3,944.12 crore has been sanctioned for the financial year 2025–26. This grant will support thousands of educators across Bihar who were previously excluded from direct financial benefits.

This funding is aimed at ensuring that educational services continue without disruption and teachers receive their dues on time.

New High-Level Committee for Employment Strategy

A new high-powered committee will be formed under the leadership of the Development Commissioner.

This committee will have 12 members and will advise the government on job creation.

The goal is to ensure long-term employment opportunities through structured planning and economic reforms.

The committee will study:

  • Skill development needs

  • Emerging job markets

  • Sector-wise employment potential

  • Coordination with private and public sector entities

Recommendations from this committee will be directly fed into state policy-making for employment generation.

Impact and Implementation Timeline

All approved proposals are expected to be implemented starting the second quarter of FY 2025–26. Ministries have been directed to ensure proper execution, with timely updates to the Chief Secretary.

Monitoring mechanisms will be set up to track the progress of job creation, education funding, and service reforms.

These decisions underline Bihar government’s strong focus on employment generation, educational reform, and administrative efficiency.

By targeting job creation and regularising teacher payments, the cabinet is addressing two of the state’s most pressing challenges.

Simultaneously, the removal of underperforming officials also reflects a zero-tolerance stance on negligence.
