One of the lives lost in the tragic crash was that of Manisha Thapa, a young woman who was serving as an Air India air hostess on the doomed flight. Her story has struck an emotional chord with many, especially in Bihar and Nepal, where she had deep roots.

Recognized for her professionalism and charm, she soon made a move to Air India, where she quickly rose through the ranks and gained the admiration of both passengers and colleagues.

Her passion for aviation and hospitality made her a rising star in the airline sector. According to friends and colleagues, she had recently completed advanced training and was preparing for international route assignments.

 Service Runs in the Family

The Thapa family has a deep association with public service and law enforcement. Two of Manisha’s paternal uncles:

are serving as Havildars in Bihar Special Armed Police (BSAP), Battalion No. 1. The entire family is known for its disciplined lifestyle and patriotic commitment, making this loss even more profound for the state.

 Patna Home in Mourning

The news of the crash reached the Thapa family late Friday night. Neighbors reported that as the confirmation came in, an eerie silence engulfed the entire locality.

“We still can’t believe it. She was full of life. Just last week, she had spoken to my daughter about planning a trip,” a neighbor shared. Friends and relatives have gathered at the family residence in Patna, where condolences continue to pour in from across Bihar and Nepal.

Possible Factors Under Scrutiny:

  • Engine failure

  • Pilot miscommunication

  • Weather interference

  • ATC coordination lapse

The retrieved black box flight recorder is expected to reveal crucial data in the coming days.

Her family has expressed hope that the government will honor her service and ensure that such tragedies are prevented in the future.
